Fashion From the Ground Up

Fashion From the Ground Up

For the professional on the go, selecting an ensemble that will take you from day to evening is inevitably a consideration. When I open my closet in the morning, the first thing I look at are my shoes. I like to build my outfit from the ground up. If the shoes don’t feel right, it doesn’t matter how designer the rest of the look is, something will feel off. Standing 5’4” in bare feet, heels are a must, but lately my eyes have been drawn to a more comfortable foot covering that has been walking up and down the runways…the street style sneaker.

Sneakers, tennis shoes, trainers or whatever you like to call them are a staple in the collections of the top fashion designers and they are pairing them with more than just track suits and jeans. Pant suits, to dresses and eveningwear can be seen combined with a more comfortable and fashionable shoe. This brilliant look can take us ladies further. Forget the end of the day blisters and carrying an extra pair of flats in your handbag for walking those long city blocks. This fashion trend is street smart. There is no end to the colors, styles and options that footwear brands are bringing to the market. Some of the most classic brands have gone from basketball court to runway, like a caterpillar to a butterfly, there is beauty in every step.

Here is a look at the hottest brands that are influencing our fashion style from the ground up:

adidas

Why choose one when you can have both; mix sport and style with adidas NEO Label’s Autumn contemporary sportswear collection, which hits stores and online in July.

Cooling down after a rebellious and hot summer, NEO encourages you to express your inner city, easy and relaxed mood with its range of downtown contemporary sportswear. Blend sports credibility with fashion lifestyle. Taking this autumns trend sports silhouettes, like track pants and bomber jackets and mixing them with the luxurious materials of shine and shimmer or branded prints. Combining this contemporary sportswear feel with our extensive denim offer available in a variety of fits and washes, NEO helps you get THE autumn look of relaxed city atmosphere with a luxed up twist.

Mixing the trends with sports silhouettes allows for trans-seasonal pieces which are perfect for layering, allowing you to tailor your wardrobe to the late summer weather as well as the chill of early autumn.

What happens when you take an all time classic and put it on a pedestal? You get the Stan Smith Up, the sneaker with its own stage built in. Featuring a skyscraping wedge heel glamourising the court classic and turning it into a street essential, the Stan Smith Up features silky smooth leather uppers perforated with the iconic 3-stripes mark. Embossed snakeskin patterns clash from tongue logos and heel patches, contrasting textures and offering flashes of fun in a deadly serious shoe.

The EasyTone Sunny features a new execution of the original EasyTone bottom and has been updated with fashion-forward features, including a retro cup-sole inspired bottom and classic gum rubber outsole to make this silhouette the complete package.  Available in a range of bright colors, patterns and textures – including metallic leathers and bold, colorful prints – EasyTone Sunny provides versatile options for every outfit and occasion, whether exploring a new city, meeting friends or commuting to work.

More than just great looks, the shoe also delivers sophisticated technology.  EasyTone features a design that’s inspired by Balance Balls found in gyms and fitness centers around the world.
