Though traditionally rosé brands introduce their latest vintage during the month of March, VieVité Côtes de Provence Rosé is excited to introduce the 2017 vintage, which has already reached the U.S. and is in the process of being rolled out throughout the country. VieVité, which is one of the first true Côtes de Provence rosés and currently among the top five selling brands in the rosé category, has become known over the past few years as being among the first to bring its latest vintage to market.
“Changes in the climate and an earlier spring than average, has pushed our harvest to early
August. This allows us to be one of the first to debut what we feel is one of the best Côtes de
Provence rosés available,” said Christopher Duburcq, winemaker at VieVité’s Domaine
Though much of France experienced troubling spring frosts that will reduce this year’s wine
output, experts are anticipating excellent quality of rosé due in part to the juxtaposition of warm
summer days and cool summer nights. Rain was scarce this summer in Provence, but the humidity
of the valley that Domaine Saint Marie is nestled in saved the harvest.
“Though the level of our production is below last year, we are extremely happy with the
grapes we have collected. Each varietal bring its own asset to a very harmonious vintage with
intense expression in white flowers while the red fruits balance the tension of the
grapefruits.” said Duburcq.
While rosé is crafted to be enjoyed un-aged, it has been known to get even better within the first
few years. This means that despite the excitement for the highly anticipated 2017 VieVité vintage,
the currently available 2016’s will continue to deliver the quality that has become synonymous
