Fighting premature aging and skin damage is a billion dollar business that has people desperately seeking ways to get youthful-looking skin. After years of research, scientist and beauty expert Sheetal Rawal successfully launched Apsara, her own skincare line of effective anti-aging products. Rawal loves sharing the wisdom she’s learned on how to properly care for your skin.
Rawal says that some of the top reasons for premature aging include poor lifestyle, eating habits, stress and not taking care of your skin with the proper products. She recommends the following tips: being mindful of your lifestyle, as well as the foods you put in your body; watching your stress levels; taking steps to become more active on a daily basis; having a skincare routine that is suitable for your skin type. Rawal adamantly believes in taking care of skin naturally by choosing products without harsh chemicals. Using products that include natural, antioxidant-rich ingredients (like turmeric) are essential to properly caring for your skin. Every skincare product in her line, Apsara, contains these properties.

In this remedy, turmeric supports and enhances the natural anti-pigmentation effects of jaggery and lemon, which are both sources of alpha hydroxy acids (glycolic acid and citric acid). Alpha hydroxy acids speed up the rate at which upper layers of the skin are shed, thus bringing the healthier layers underneath to surface quickly.
Since turmeric has color balancing properties, it evens out the appearance and texture of the skin. In addition, its natural antioxidant properties make it the perfect choice to undo and prevent the negative side effects of poor diet, overexposure to the sun, etc. Both these could be linked to hyper-pigmentation of skin, and turmeric has been highly esteemed for its ability to keep the skin protected, healthy and glowing.

This homemade face mask remedy uses the antioxidant power of grapes, tea and turmeric to give your skin a phenomenal boost. Antioxidants reduce signs of aging by reducing and checking the free radical damage to skin. Glycolic acid from jaggery speeds up the skin’s renewal process. Therefore, this face mask is not only great for its natural anti-aging properties, but it also enhances the glow of your skin. Use it 1-2 times a week and always follow with a serum and lotion for your skin type.
