While taking an afternoon mixology class at Ka’ana Kitchen with bartender Gracie, my husband and I met the cutest newlywed couple. Recovering from a 450 person wedding in Atlanta, GA, they weren’t quite ready for a dream two-week honeymoon in Fiji, so they planned a Maui minimoon – shorter honeymoon taken shortly after a wedding. They shared how this resort is an idyllic honeymoon destination.

Studies show that Hawaii has been America’s top honeymoon destination for newlyweds seeking sun, sand, romance and nature-based adventures. One of the most desired places to visit in Maui. After suffering the pandemic and Lahaina fires, the island has been open and ready for those seeking a tropical moon-vacation. Airplanes, hotels and restaurants are still not at full capacity, so this is the perfect time to re-visit Maui.

It winds along some of the island’s world-renowned resorts, such as The Four Seasons, Grand Wailea and Fairmont Kea-Lani Maui. Pools + Cabanas

The heart of the Andaz Maui resort are the pools. There are five different pools to relax, float, swim and soak up the sun. Three of the ocean-facing pools are terraced cascading infinity pools. There is also a lagoon-style, shallow pool for families, and an adult-only tranquility pool for a quieter setting.

Guest Rooms + Villas

The resort offers 320 guest rooms including 35 spacious suites and 30 luxury villas. Each have a private lanai for guests to soak up the ocean and island views. Those seeking an Airbnb-style accommodation will prefer the luxury residential-style villas. The two, three and four-bedroom configurations are ideal for family-moons and couples traveling together. Views of the island’s natural beauty and Wailea surroundings are from almost every room.
