Scenic Eclipse to Visit Saudi Waters for the First Time

 Scenic Group has announced that the company’s ultra-luxury Scenic Eclipse will do a series of itineraries in the Red Sea for the first time in 2021. Scenic Group’s first purpose-built ocean cruise ship and the world’s first Discovery Yacht will sail Saudi waters from July 17 to December 9, 2021. Selected sailings from October to December will be open to international guests to experience the rich Saudi heritage, stunning landscapes and warm and welcoming hospitality.

Virgin Voyages Reveals Plans for UK Debut of Valiant Lady

Virgin Voyages, the new lifestyle travel brand focused on delivering irresistible cruise vacations, has revealed three all-new pre-summer voyages setting sail from Portsmouth, England in 2022. On the heels of the recent unveiling of the ‘Summer Soiree Series’ for its inaugural ship, Scarlet Lady, Virgin Voyages’ Valiant Lady will officially make her debut in UK waters before heading to Barcelona to sail the Med in the Summer. With dates ranging from March 18 through May 14 2022, Valiant Lady will sail on a series of three new itineraries, including a mix of 3-night, 11-night and 12-night voyages.

Scenic Opens Up Europe for 2021

 Scenic has announced the return of European river cruises with truly all-inclusive luxury sailings on the Rhine and Danube rivers, Portugal’s Douro, and France’s Garonne, Gironde and Dordogne rivers in Bordeaux.

Departures begin on Portugal’s Douro on July 30, followed by France’s Bordeaux on August 29, the Rhine on August 30, and the Danube on September 27. To kick off this most welcome news, Scenic is offering USA guests savings of up to $2,400 per couple on 2021 departures. These new bookings must be made by August 31.

Tauck Announces Resumption of Global Operations

After announcing the restart of select tours and cruises in recent weeks, Tauck revealed that it plans to resume full operations of all remaining 2021 itineraries during August and September. The announcement includes the return of Tauck’s Danube and Rhine river cruises, its land tours in Italy and elsewhere across Europe, and its explorations of far-flung destinations ranging from Morocco to Machu Picchu. In all, Tauck expects to operate more than 80% of its pre-pandemic portfolio of tours and cruises this year, with a full return of all itineraries slated for 2022.

MSC Resumes Cruises from Germany

Cruises commenced the Northern Europe summer season when MSC Seaview departed from the German port of Kiel for the first of her 7-night cruises in the Baltic Sea. MSC Seaview is the seventh MSC Cruises’ ship to resume sailings with guests on board, with a further three preparing to start future voyages, which will see half of the Company’s fleet back at sea by the end of summer.

Uniworld’s Newest Super Ship Debuts in Portugal

On June 27th, Uniworld Boutique River Cruises debuted its newest super ship S.S. São Gabriel on the Douro river in Portugal.

Uniworld’s President and CEO Ellen Bettridge was onboard to christen the new ship with its Godmother Joke De Bruyn, Uniworld’s Director of Hotel Operations and a long-standing loyal employee since 2009. The christening events included speeches, a traditional performance by a Portuguese University, surprise gifts, dinner, and a much-deserved toast.
