Best Cigar and Whiskey Bars in Beverly Hills

The city of Beverly Hills offers five different club lounges designed for true cigar and whiskey aficionados. Here are five of the best bars to visit when in Southern California, to ignite a cigar, draw in the flavors and hold a snifter of whiskey in your other hand:

£10 at Montage Beverly Hills
Inside one of the most elegant hotels in Beverly Hills is a club bar tucked away discreetly above the recently launched Georgie restaurant. By reservation only, this lounge is one of the most exclusive in the world. £10 is dark, private and intimate with the finest handcrafted finishings that include Lalique crystal barware, light fixtures, exotic wood details and an intricately carved Lalique crystal doorknob. True whiskey connoisseurs appreciate  The Macallan Single Malt – the world’s most precious whisky. Head Barman, Cash Black serves guests The Macallan’s rarest and most prized whiskey. Some are aged for 62 years. £10 bartenders hand pour the whisky over a choice of four different types of ice. The most notable is a single ice sphere of water, imported from the Scottish Highlands.  225 N. Canon Dr, Beverly Hills, CA 90212 – (310)906-7218.

The Buena Vista Cigar Club
This cigar lounge offers a variety of carefully-selected tobacco products that attracts locals and visitors to Beverly Hills. Owner Rigo Fernandez created an authentic gentleman’s club style lounge, with character and charm. Guests allow the staff to handpick a cigar suited to the visitor’s preferred taste. For added privacy, a more exclusive area upstairs has comfortable seating to sit back and enjoy. The laid back bar offers sports on TV.  9715 Santa Monica Blvd. Beverly Hills, CA 90210 – (310)273-8100.

The Buena Vista Cigar Club

Grand Havana Room
Since 1995, this members’ only club has their flagship location in Beverly Hills setting the high standard that other high-end cigar club attendees appreciate. Located on the corner of Dayton Way and Canon Drive in the heart of Beverly Hills, the Grand Havana Room has a glassed-in room that contains 350 blonde-wood lockers, packed from floor to ceiling. The etched brass nameplates on the private cigar lockers have the names of A list actors, producers, directors, and agents. Each name stores their cigars in a wrap-around wall of cedar. Some of these lockers can only be reached by a ladder. The Grand Havana humidor includes rare cigars that include Fuente’s Opus X, La Gloria Cubana, and the Indian brand cigar. 301 N Canon Dr #215, Beverly Hills, CA 90210 –  (310)274-8100.

Kramers Pipe & Tobacco Shop
Founded in 1949, Kramers Pipe & Tobacco Shop is old school blending tobacco by hand and by the pound, not by the barrel, to an individual’s taste. The shop sells cigars, pipes & custom loose-leaf tobacco to Hollywood “royalty” and loyal locals. Regulars help Kramers to develop their most popular specialty blends. The shop provides unique products and personal individual service.  9531 N. Santa Monica Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA 90210 – (310)273-9777.

The Club Bar at The Peninsula Beverly Hills
Dark wood panels made of California birch and the deep leather chairs that circle the wide fireplace create a traditional and elegant gentleman’s club feel. Sit in a chair while sipping one of the rare single malt whiskies. In the evening this area becomes a lively nightspot for a signature Peninsula cocktail, scotch, tequila and cognac. The hotel’s private-label Keller The Peninsula Sonoma Pinot Noir is one of the most popular wines served. –  9882 S. Santa Monica Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA 90212 – (310) 551-2888.
