Celebrate Pinot Noir Day [COCKTAIL TIME]

It’s National Pinot Noir Day! We have pulled together a list of some of our favorites!

2018 Lyra Pinot Noir | Marine Layer Wines – $45

The inaugural vintage of Lyra Pinot Noir shows pale ruby red in the glass with an explosive nose of rose hips, fresh strawberry, and hints of Asian spice. In the mouth, you’ll find lifted flavors of black cherry, cedar, and hints of orange peel, all wrapped in a beautifully delicate package.

2018 Gravenstein Vineyard Pinot Noir | Marine Layer Wines – $65

Gravenstein Pinot Noir is a deep ruby color, with a nose that immediately reminiscent of this powerful site. Scents of blackberry, peak ripeness strawberry and cola explode from the glass. Grown almost directly on bedrock, the wine shows a rich concentration on the palate with flavors of late-harvested raspberry, blood orange, and maraschino cherry, all wrapped in a cloak of creme de cassis.

2018 Pinot Noir | Bricoleur Vineyards – $47

This 2018 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is wonderfully aromatic with hints of vanilla bean and cranberry. The palate is balanced with flavors of cherry cola, currant, and white pepper jumping out. This wine offers a smooth texture and is complemented by bright, acidity that leads to a fresh finish.

2018 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir | Benovia Winery – $45

The 2018 vintage provided the raw materials to produce a Russian River Valley Pinot Noir with intense fruit and spice aromas and layered texture.  Aromas are dominated by red fruits of plum and vine-ripened raspberry, while black fruits dominate on the palate.  The vibrant aromas expand and give way to red plum, toasted brioche and allspice.  On the palate the wine has integrated acidity and fine tannins that should allow for mid-term cellaring. As always, the wine was bottled without fining or filtration.

2018 Gap’s Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir | Marine Layer Wines – $65

Concentrated and broad-shouldered, Gap’s Crown Pinot Noir is dark ruby color with profound aromas of dried violets, blackberry, and sweet herbs. Black fruits dominate the mouthwatering palate, showing flavors of boysenberry and ripe plum with forest floor and sassafras tones. The lush mouthfeel and complex finish help to showcase the dynamic balance of grace and power often attributed to this hallowed, wind-swept site.

Cantine Ermes’ Pinot Noir

Although Sicily is better known for its local, distinguished grapes, the island has been also recognized for the International grapes growing. This Pinot Noir from Cantine Ermes balances a rich with clean taste displaying hints of currant, raspberry and other fresh red fruits.
