Lexus World Surf League Finals at San Clemente’s Trestles Beach

Merging the world of professional surfing with luxury Lexus automobiles and fashion, Lexus World Surf League Finals (WSL) begins this Friday, Sept. 6, and runs through Sept. 14, 2024. The host of the event is Southern California’s  Trestles Beach in the beach community of San Clemente.

The first-ever surf ambassador is 2024 U.S. Olympian Griffin Colapinto will take the waves in his hometown of San Clemente. Griffin is a perfect fit for Lexus, whose energy and passion for surfing perfectly align with the brand’s commitment to innovation and performance. This partnership also marks Lexus’ deeper dive into the surfing world.

Lexus is helping to create experiences at select WSL North America events, allowing the surfing community and fans to interact in new ways with the brand and its vehicle lineup, including the all-new 2024 Lexus GX 550. These will include on-site activations, curated VIP experiences, and chauffeur services for both athletes and fans. In addition to on-site activations, Lexus-branded content will be found on WSL live event broadcasts and across WSL and Complex social channels.

The Lexus WSL Finals is the one-day, winner-take-all season finale to decide the 2024 World Champions. The competition window for the Lexus WSL Finals will open on Friday, September 6, and close on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Within this window, the competition will be run on the best day of surf conditions.

From Pipeline and Portugal to Teahupo’o and Cloudbreak, it has been a hard fought season for the world’s best surfers. Only two surfers will emerge as Champions to add their name to the legacy of the sport.

This current world No. 1 John John Florence, will be making his first appearance at Lower Trestles as a World Title contender. He will battle it out for his third World Title.

Returning 18 year old, Caitlin Simmers, will be making her second run at a World Title as the No. 1 seed, while also donning the Yellow Leader Jersey.

The world No. 2 and defending champion Caroline Marks will be back in front of her home crowd to defend her World Title.

History will be made as tour veterans will battle a new generation of talent for the World Title at Lower Trestles. For those who can’t make it to Southern California to watch, they can watch live September 6-14 on World Surf League.

On the sand at the Lexus WSL Finals, fans will have the opportunity to preview the Lexus LX Surf Concept vehicle, as well as enjoy a curated surf shop experience at the Lexus House. Lexus has collaborated with LA-based clothing brand, Free & Easy for a limited-edition capsule collection.
