Luxury French Cognac, LOUIS XIII, is proud to announce Fairmont Le Château Frontenac with the distinguished honor of being named the newest global LOUIS XIII Fortress destination – a highly coveted global designation which is bestowed upon an establishment.
As a LOUIS XIII Fortress, Fairmont Le Château Frontenac will become a guardian of LOUIS XIII’s heritage by sharing their legacy, craftsmanship, and dedication to excellence with their patrons. LOUIS XIII Fortresses are given the prestigious opportunity to house LOUIS XIII’s magnum crystal decanter filled with their exquisite blend of up to 1,200 eaux-de-vie sourced 100% from Grande Champagne, the first cru of the Cognac region. The legendary decanters have been handmade from fine crystal for generations, mouth-blown by some of the most skilled master craftsmen. Fairmont Le Château Frontenac will house 2 magnum bottles (1.75L), including an impressive Jeroboam bottle (3L) of LOUIS XIII.
Each decanter of LOUIS XIII is the life achievement of generations of cellar masters. Rich with history and legacy, LOUIS XIII is above all an experience that travels far beyond the cognac itself. A journey into memories and sensations which will continue to reside with Fairmont Le Château Frontenac patrons today and for generations to come.
“LOUIS XIII is honored to bestow this prestigious Fortress designation to the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac,” said Olivia Tran, Brand Director of LOUIS XIII, Canada. “The Fairmont Collection of hotels have been one of our coveted partners for many years, we are thrilled to further grow and develop our strong relationship with the Château Frontenac and its patrons in having them join our LOUIS XIII family as a Fortress.”
Celebrating their 125th anniversary, Fairmont Le Château Frontenac is a national icon which plays a pivotal importance to the history of the city, province, and country. The hotel recently underwent a $80 million renovation to further enhance what was already an elite-class hotel.
“The association between Fairmont Le Château Frontenac and LOUIS XIII is natural for many reasons,” said Robert Mercure, General Manger for Fairmont Le Château Frontenac. “But more than anything, the Château Frontenac is very proud to be partners with LOUIS XIII as both have achieved a legendary status based on a real heritage of excellence, attention to refinement and our mutual quest to create unforgettable memories.”
The iconic 3L LOUIS XIII Jeroboam will be showcased at the entrance of the world-class Champlain Restaurant in a luxurious custom-made glass display case, located within Fairmont Le Château Frontenac. The highly-acclaimed restaurant has become Québec’s premier destinations for fine-dining.
