Luxe Collection by L.E. Hotels Welcomes New Property in Canary Islands

The newest addition to the exclusive Luxe Collection by L.E. Hotels™ is “the sweetest” yet. The global hospitality brand recently welcomed Hotel Hacienda de Abajo, a restored 17th century sugar plantation located in the Canary Islands, on the island of San Miguel de La Palma (La Palma).

The adults-only property -16 and older- boasts the distinction of being the first hotel built in Tazacorte, the Spanish municipality known for having the most sunshine a year.  Hotel Hacienda de Abajo has gone to great lengths to respect the original layout of the sugar estate, its traditional Canarian architecture and several of the furnishings and artifacts found throughout the property. From an eighteenth-century table to a sculpture of the Virgin Mary, the property has more than 1300 antiquities, some dating all the way back to the first century. In addition to the pieces in the main “Casa Principal de Tazacorte,” guests can marvel at some of the artifacts in the small chapel or the luxurious bathhouse. The historic property is set between lush vegetation and the coast, offering stunning views of both the sea and banana crops.
