Right before the premier of JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 3 – PARABELLUM, celebrity actor and producer Keanu Reeves (John Wick) was invited to participate in the oldest honor in Hollywood – to sign his name and put his hands and footprints in wet cement on the forecourt of the TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX.
Near the stage was International artist and painter Rob Prior, sweeping fluid strokes of colorful paint to the beat of music. His art is a mesmerizing combination of entertainment and excitement, drawing fans to watch him paint Keanu Reeves as John Wick.
Soon many of Keanu’s John Wick cast members arrived to support the versatile actor. Halle Berry, Laurence Fishburne, Asia Kate Dillon, Mark Dacascos, and Lance Reddick joined him on this celebratory day.
Laurence Fishburne opened the ceremony by stating “We are here to celebrate the artistry and work of Mr. Keanu Reeves.” Those in attendance learned that Keanu is a private person. “After so many years in showbiz, he still maintains a little mystery,” said Fishburne.
Over twenty years ago, Keanu was named “One of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World.” A UK Movie Magazine named him one of the greatest actors of all time. “Even with great success, he displays great humility,” said Fishburne. He once told his co-star and friend (Laurence Fishburne) “You know this could all go away tomorrow.”
As one of Hollywood’s most sought after leading men with a worldwide box office total of over $4.2 billion, this passionate and courageous actor’s list of credits include the blockbuster The Matrix trilogy, Speed, Generation Um, Henry’s Crime, which he both starred and produced; The Private Lives of Pippa; The Day the Earth Stood Still, a remake of the 1951 classic sci-fi film; the cop thriller Street Kings; The Lake House, a romantic drama and A Scanner Darkly, a highly stylized blend of live-action and animation. In June, he will lend his voice as a new character in Disney’s Toy Story 4, which will be Reeves first role in an animated film. This spring he will appear in the Netflix romantic comedy Always Be My Maybe, starring Ali Wong.
