Spa Day at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills

Spa Day at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills

Taking the elevator up to the second floor, the door opens to La Prairie Spa at Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills. Recently this 5,000 sq. ft. spa was named a Five-Star Spa by Forbes Travel Guide. It’s the first spa at a Hilton property in North America to win the award, and only the second globally.

Curious as to why this luxury spa received such a prestigious designation, I discovered the staff incorporates the Swiss skincare’s most luxurious products and experiences. Only at the Waldorf Astoria, do they offer a multitude of treatments and three exclusive experiences. The Ultimate Radiance Experience leaves locals and global travelers red-carpet ready, beginning with a Perfecting Radiance Radiance Body Treatment followed by a 90-minute facial. One of the most decadent experiences is called Diamond Day, giving guests a glistening glow after a Diamond Perfection body treatment, champagne lunch and Rejuvenating Platinum La Prairie Facial. Skin will feel silky, smooth and luminous from head to toe.

Upon entering the locker room, each locker in the open changing area has a plush robe and sandals. There is also a and private room for those who enjoy privacy. Nearby the relaxation lounge offers a hot tea bar and healthy snacks, house-made oatmeal fruit bars, dried apricots, a variety of bite-size muffins and beautiful artisan chocolates.

When my esthetician Lenora approached me to lead me into one of the six treatment room, she inquired if I was familiar with the world-renowned La Prairie products. She told me that these products are offered in all treatments, and that La Prairie skincare is made with sumptuous ingredients that include rare platinum, rich caviar and opulent gold.

As I climbed under fine linen sheets and a warm and cozy blanket, I noticed Lenora washing her hands as a doctor would do before surgery. When I commented about it, she said that since she will be touching my skin, towels and blanket, she wants to ensure that her hands are clean.

Next she customized my 60 minute Signature La Prairie facial to my personal skincare needs. My lavish anti-aging treatment included a water-activated cleansing mousse to purify and soothe my skin, before a mild extraction. Next she applied a soothing serum, ultrasonic therapy, moisturizer and sunscreen leaving my skin refreshed, glowing, supple and smooth.

After being pampered and rejuvenated, I received a flute of champagne to take back to the relaxation lounge. The spa offers a separate steam room and multi-sensory shower experience. The large tiled shower offered an array of water effects including a tropical rain and cool waterfall.
