The Arts Bar at The St. Regis Venice Unveils New Cocktail Menu, “Worldwide Icons of Art,” in Collaboration with Berengo Studio
The Arts Bar at The St. Regis Venice, a premier destination for art and mixology enthusiasts, is excited to announce its renewed collaboration with the prestigious Berengo Studio. This partnership brings forth an extraordinary cocktail menu, “Worldwide Icons of Art,” celebrating the fusion of art and mixology through innovative cocktails served in exquisite Murano glassware.
This new menu is a tribute to renowned art masterpieces, with each cocktail thoughtfully crafted using selective ingredients that reflect the essence of the artwork it represents. Created by the hotel’s Food & Beverage Director, Facundo Gallegos, and Head of Bars, Ludwig Negri, in collaboration with Berengo Studio’s designer, Mariapia Bellis, each drink is not just a cocktail but a journey through the world of art.
“Through our partnership with Berengo Studio, we aim to preserve the Venetian tradition of glassmaking, as well as to stay true to the St. Regis brand’s vocation of continuing to push the boundaries in terms of artistic innovation,” explains Audrey Huttert, General Manager of The St. Regis Venice ”The Arts Bar becomes the scene of an intimate and refined experience, where we experience, literally, cocktails in their glasses, designed uniquely for us, inspired by the artistic and cultural heritage of the city, but not only.”
Facundo Gallegos, Director of Food & Beverage The St. Regis Venice echoes her, “Ours was a pioneering project, a skillful and original mix of art, design and mixology that we are sure connoisseurs of beauty like the patrons of our bar and guests of the St. Regis Venice appreciate.”
The selection of liquid artworks—meticulously crafted and elegantly served—features 12 cocktails inspired by iconic international masterpieces: six classic favorites and six innovative new creations. Notable influences include works by Munch, Recuenco, Mondrian, Scarpa, Banksy, Monet, Dali, and Ai Weiwei.
The artistry extends to the glassware itself, thanks to Mariapia Bellis. “A glass is an intimate object, bridging the cocktail and our experience of it. The design process considers ergonomics, the hands that will hold it, and the mouth that will touch it, as well as the materiality and colors of the glass to enhance the liquid within. Our collaborative journey was both lengthy and rewarding, driven by a desire to create original vessels that elevate equally extraordinary cocktails,” she explains.
From Recuenco to Banksy, these 12 drinks celebrate creativity and style, appealing to today’s avant-garde enthusiasts. Featuring exotic flavors—be they spicy, refreshing, smoky, or complex—each cocktail is crafted with the finest spirits. Before indulging, guests can explore the genesis of each glass in “The Arts Bar Venice” notebook, which includes sketches of all prototypes.
New creations include Willful Dart, inspired by Recuenco’s August 5. Served in a charming two-tone heart-shaped glass, it blends clarified soy and almond milk punch with Rum Zacapa 23 and Russell’s Reserve 10-Year Bourbon, symbolizing the beauty of diversity, complemented by cordial, licorice bitters, and horchata—a nod to the author’s heritage.
One of the most playful designs is for Still Waiting, an homage to Wurm. This cocktail features Grey Goose vodka, Crème de cacao, Abricot de Roussillon, homemade vanilla syrup, and verjus, topped with a spectacular orange cloud garnish. The ingredients evoke the sweetness of Austrian chocolate and jam cakes, while the delicate foam represents the swirling emotions that occupy our minds while we wait—truly poetic.
To capture a Mondrian painting, the homage is expressed through Urban Grid: a Martini served in three distinct glasses representing different flavors and colors. Featuring Gin No. 3, it starts with juniper-infused Mancino Amaranto vermouth and cardamom bitters, transitions to sencha cordial with pepper of paradise, and finishes with grapefruit and orange oleo saccharum.
The glass for Silver Dreams, inspired by Andy Warhol’s Shots Marilyn, resembles the iconic face of the artist. This cocktail blends vodka with St-Germain and popcorn essence syrup, topped off with champagne—the hollywood starlet’s favorite drink.
In homage to Picasso, Canvas Temptation features a ruby-colored glass—a color that is challenging for master glassmakers to achieve. This cocktail combines grape distillate, a fig-tonka cordial, chili pepper, and spirulina algae, reflecting the abundance and sensuality found in Les demoiselles d’Avignon.
The latest addition, Through the Trees, draws inspiration from Munch’s The Scream, featuring Norwegian Aquavit and roasted barley syrup, finished with smoky hop soda and a twist of absinthe, evoking the wild Nordic landscape.
The below Arts Bar classics will remain on the menu.
- Oriental Shapes pays tribute to Carlo Scarpa, blending Japanese whiskey with an oriental syrup of passion fruit, wild peach, and wild strawberries, finished with Amaro Cipriani.
- The signature Canal Art cocktail, inspired by Banksy, features Mezcal paired with a cordial made from artichokes from Sant’Erasmo, garnished with a delicate pink foam reminiscent of smoke.
- The Negroni Desire, a nod to Dali, combines Oxley Gin, Mancino vermouth, Calvados, and Bitter Martini Riserva Speciale.
The menu also features two exquisite non-alcoholic cocktails. Britannia 1201 pays tribute to the legendary Claude Monet, who once stayed at what is now The St. Regis Venice, previously known as the Grand Hotel Britannia. This refreshing concoction is crafted with Tanqueray 0.0, house-made non-alcoholic vermouth, and a touch of non-alcoholic bitters, elegantly garnished with a spray of Tanqueray TEN.
Finally, the Spirit Illusions honors Karen La Monte’s Reclining Nocturne, a striking sculpture of a glass dress that challenges traditional views of body and identity. Currently displayed at the hotel, this womanless dress inspired the Arts Bar team to create a unique alcohol-free spritz that defies aperitif norms. This delightful drink blends non-alcoholic sparkling wine with Kuka Kura Bitter, American Amharic, and London Essence Peach & Jasmine soda.
The Arts Bar is open Wednesday through Saturday from 6:30 p.m. till 12:30 a.m. For more information click here: https://artsbarvenice.com/
