JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa New Interactive Wellness Lounge

Palm Desert’s largest resort, the JW Marriott Desert Springs also offers guests a brand new Spa Wellness Lounge in the largest hotel spa in the Greater Palm Springs area.

The Spa at Desert Springs one-of-a-kind interactive Co-ed Wellness Lounge is the first multi-sensory immersive spa concept for the Marriott brand.

Located in the heart of the hotel’s iconic 38,000 sq.-ft. Spa, the new offerings feature 15 state-of-the-art multi-sensory lounge chairs. Arranged in a circle in the wellness lounge, there are privacy sheer curtains between three different types of high-tech lounge chairs. Guests receive a soft and cozy blanket to drape over them to snuggle into while reclining in the chairs.

Mind-Sync Loungers

This one-of-a-kind lounge chair was my favorite. The Mind-Sync lounger is wide and comfortable providing different settings to recline back and prop one’s feet up high for a zero gravity position. Guests cuddle under a plush cozy blanket before putting on a noise-cancelling headset. There are six different meditative sounds for guests to select that offer vibro-acoustic sound wave therapy. This sound bath experience includes the sounds of a rain storm, nature, and the ocean. Each one provides deep levels of relaxation. A few offer a soothing voice guiding guests into a meditative state of mind. The carefully curated music synchronizes the brain’s left and right hemisphere, gently lowering brain activity to the calmer Alpha, Theta and Delta states. One 25-minute session has been proven to induce profound levels of relaxation, restoration and sleep.

NuWave Zero Gravity Wave Loungers

The sleek design of the Zero Gravity lounge chair provides optimal head, hand and foot comfort. This chair is known to improve the circulatory system and help ease back strain. Guests can add on optional enhancements that include an Eye Mask, Collagen Gloves and Sock Mask, Therabody Massaging Goggles, and NormaTech Calf Compression Air Massage. Each add on is an additional $25.

Selecting the Therabody Massaging Goggles for a 25 minute experience, this high-tech eye mask powered by SmartSense Technology, provides an exclusive biometric sensor that customizes treatments to lower your heart rate to a more relaxed state. The pulsating massage points and warmth provide relief to sinuses, helps to soothe headaches, and relieves eye strain. These SmartGoggles can be purchased at the Spa retail shop for guests who wish to continue receiving the therapeutic benefits at home.

Ceragem M2 Massaging

This modern design luxurious massage chair offers an artistic appeal. Focused on the essence of massage, guests relax and unwind as the cutting-edge technology offers a heat option. There is an abdominal massager that can be heated to 140 degrees to place on one’s stomach or other ailing body area. This chair is equipped with six automatic modes to suit a range of needs and conditions. It’s an ideal lounger for those looking for a little care of their neck, back, hips, thighs and even abdominal circulation. A Bluetooth speaker allows a guest to create their own playlist for music therapy.

Guests sitting in this chair can choose up to two complimentary enhancements, such as an Eye Mask, NormaTech Calf Compression Air Massage, Collagen Gloves and Feet Mask, or the Therabody Massaging Goggles.

Consulting with Spa Director, Dawn Ferraro, the menu features an array of fresh juices that can be added to a mimosa, green smoothies, acai bowls, overnight oats, salads, and sandwiches.
