Luxe Beat Magazine Highlights Five U.S. Spas
Spas in the United States know how to take care of their guests. They also are well known for fitting into the gorgeous setting the spa is built in. We have pulled together a list highlighting such spas. Let’s see which spas made this list!
1. Kapalua Spa located at Kapalua Resort, Kapalua, HI.
“Surrounded by breathtaking views of the West Maui Mountains and sparkling turquoise waters of Kapalua Bay, this 45,000 square-foot, three-story spa is the winner of the ‘2012 Best Luxury Destination Spa’ for the United States. The spa perfectly integrates a peaceful Mauka (mountain) to Makai (ocean) experience. Customized treatments have been developed using indigenous ingredients grown in the West Maui Mountains.” – Sandra Chambers

“Destination spa-goers looking for a luxury experience that is nestled in nature need to look no further than Primland in Meadows of Dan, Virginia. This luxury mountain retreat offers amenities for all walks of life. The property sits on 13,000 acres, high in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and caters to rugged outdoor types who prefer the finer comforts.” – Sherrie Wilkolaski

3. Cal-a-Vie Spa located near San Diego, CA
“One thing I love about destination spas is that the setting and energy allow me to turn my monkey mind off and simply relax. I find tranquility at Cal-a-Vie on its hiking trails, sitting alone paging through a magazine by the fire in the Garden Room, and journaling in my room that lacks a TV for mindless entertainment. The kind of quiet found at Cal-a-Vie is hard to find in the ‘real’ world and is an ideal catalyst for inspiration.” – Dena Roche

4. The Four Seasons Santa Fe
“This spa is the most luxurious of the three I sampled, and I like the private casita feel to the rooms. The spa offers a wide variety of services, from regionally inspired things like the Blue Corn and Honey Renewal wrap, which uses these indigenous ingredients to moisturize and soften the skin, to Ayurvedic rituals like the Ayurvedic Attunement. The latter service, which I opted for, includes the quintessential Ayurvedic massage, the Abhyanga. This classic treatment uses warm oil pressed into the body to dissolve toxins during the massage. The attunement service also includes energy work in the form of Chakra balancing.” – Dena Roche

5. Evan Todd Spa & Salon at Conrad Indianapolis
“The Conrad Indianapolis has received the Top U.S. Hotel Reader’s Choice Award from Condé Nast Traveler Magazine. It is no surprise it would be home to Evan Todd Spa & Salon.
“Spa owners, Evan Todd and Cindy Leuck, have over 25 years experience and success. Over twenty years ago, Evan Todd worked for AVEDA. He was stage assistant to founder, Horst Rechelbacher, for any on stage presentations. Cindy and Todd have included the AVEDA difference in their three day spas, Samson & Delilah, in Lafayette, Indiana; Evan Todd, in West Lafayette, Indiana; and Evan Todd, in Indianapolis.” – Maralyn Hill
