Since Spring and Easter are approaching Rombauer Vineyards is providing fans with festive meal recipes for spring entertaining. In 1980 Rombauer made its first Cabernet, followed by their iconic Chardonnay in 1982. They provide two tasting rooms to sip a flight and purchase their award-winning wines. One tasting room is in Napa Valley and the other in the Sierra Foothills. For those who live away from these wine destinations, their website invites viewers to shop all of their wines. For a simple dish, Rombauer recommends making Bahn Mi sandwiches to pair with a Rombauer Vineyards 2021 California Zinfandel (SRP $38). The brights flavors from the sandwich accentuates the wine’s acidity. Since Zinfandel is considered “America’s grape,” this wine is Rombauer’s tribute to California’s wine history. Each sip offers fruity aromas of fresh picked berries. This full and balanced wine on the palate provides a hint of  spice and licorice flavors. The  lovely fine tannins create a smooth finish.

Founder of Rombauer Vineyards, Koerner Rombauer had a talented and creative great aunt named Irma Rombauer, who wrote the internationally renowned cookbook, The Joy of Cooking. From the Joy of Cooking cookbook, make the Fried Halloumi with Honey and Walnuts recipe to enjoy with a light and easy to drink glass of Rombauer Vineyards 2022 Sauvignon Blanc (SRP $28). This crisp white wine tastes like spring and is known for its ‘sunshine in a glass’ appeal. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes used to make this wine were grown in both Napa Valley and Sonoma County. There are subtle herbaceous notes and a touch of kiwi flavor on the satisfying finish.

This recipe also pairs well with a glass of Rombauer Carneros Chardonnay (SRP $42). The pleasing aromas of ripe yellow peach, fresh melon, and floral chamomile entice the senses. On the palate there is a brightness of just picked nectarine, followed by a subtle spice, and lively acidity. The finish leaves you wanting another sip.
