YOUR HOST:
My name is Megan Wilcox, Founder and CEO of SobahSistahs Sobriety.
I am an Alcohol Free Life Coach And Certified Professional Recovery Coach. I have helped guide hundreds of women to find their power within and live a life free from the chains of alcohol.
I’ve hosted thousands of women only sobriety support meetings with women all around the world. The SobahSistahs meetings have completely changed so many lives. I have helped clients reframe their behaviors and limiting beliefs around alcohol.
Working in healthcare for over ten years I saw the huge rise in women with alcohol related illnesses. It made me really look in the mirror at my own drinking habits. I played the moderation game for years without success. Finally at the end of 2020, mid pandemic, I hit my “rock bottom.”
After my unexpected divorce in 2017 I turned to alcohol (in particular, wine), to help cope with the fear, stress and loneliness as I started out on my life as a newly single mom to two young boys. Next thing I knew I was drinking most nights and I just couldn’t seem to control it. I found myself at an all-time low on the day after Christmas 2020. I was hopeless, depressed and a shell of a human. I can remember that night waking up at 3am, so sick, sweating, crying and begging someone to help me.
The next day I started to attend online sobriety zoom meetings and signed up for a sobriety course. The rest is history. My life has totally changed since that day two years ago. I don’t even recognize that girl I once was. I have found my purpose in life and that is helping other women who are struggling with alcohol, find hope and confidence within themselves.
