A stay on the top floor of a new hotel in Times Square

Having just opened in August of 2023, the Tempo by Hilton New York Times Square is one of the newest additions to this iconic tourist spot that takes the idea of staying in the heart of the action to a new level. At the corner of 7th Ave and 47th St is right where the iconic TKTS ticket booth and bleachers are, so when this hotel claims to be right in Times Square it really means it.

When you enter the hotel you immediately jump onto an elevator to go up to the 11th floor where the check-in area and restaurant are. There is a space with some seating and large windows if you need a moment to relax from all the hustle and bustle that’s beyond the big windows around you and otherwise the outside noise seems to be far away while you check in with one of their staff in the spacious, open lobby.

Highball is the name of the bar & lounge that’s also located on this floor, where you can stop in for anything from a grab-and-go breakfast to a delicious, upscale dinner. It’s also a lively cocktail bar where guests can enjoy expertly crafted cocktails along with a delectable selection of shareable plates. It’s a nice blend of flavorful libations and culinary creations in a beautiful space.

Up on the 18th floor is a 24-hour fitness center with weights and cardio equipment, including Peleton bikes. Some of the rooms in the hotel even come with their own Peloton bike so if that’s your preferred method of exercise it’s pretty ideal to have one right in your room in front of the window.

I stayed way up on the 46th floor in what they call a “two queen bed deluxe city view top floor” room. These rooms have buttons on the wall for different light settings like “work” or “relax”, as well as buttons to raise or lower the drapes/sheers. Once raised there’s an incredible view of Times Square down below, reminding you of all the action that’s in store for you when you leave the hotel again.

You can’t get a better location than this! 🍎 I walked everywhere in New York because everything I wanted to go to was walkable from my hotel. It’s of course a busy/noisy area, but up on the 46th floor I couldn’t hear a thing. 😌 🏨 Tempo by Hilton 📍Times Square 🇺🇸 NYC, New York #media #hotel #travel #nyc #hotels #newyork #timessquare #hosted

When you do head out there is of course an infinite amount of options available to you for things to do in the city that never sleeps. I used a CityPASS to get a discount on visiting three attractions, which for me ended up being a ride on the Circle Line Sighteeing Cruise, a visit to the Intrepid Museum, and heading up to the Top of the Rock. Whenever visiting NYC I make sure to always see a Broadway show as well and this time I checked out Back To The Future: The Musical, which was a fun recreation of the classic 80’s movie, but with singing and dancing.

New York is probably my most visited city at this point and I always love being there, any time of the year. Being able to stay right in the middle of the action makes it easy to get around and I managed to walk almost everywhere, with only taking a taxi once. Manhattan is very walkable and there is of course the subway available too to easily and inexpensively get you around if you ever need it. I’m already looking forward to being back again soon to explore more of the Big Apple because it’s always a good time when I do!
