D Las Vegas reopens on historic Freemont Street

The world-famous Fremont Street Hotel and casino D Las Vegas reopened to the public at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2020.

Owned by CEO and Downtown Las Vegas developer, Derek Stevens, D Las Vegas is among one of the first casinos to resume gaming operations in Nevada.

“As with the rest of the world, the past few months have presented our city with an unprecedented challenge, and our team has worked around the clock to bring back the Vegas experience our visitors know and love,” said Stevens. “We are excited to get our employees back to work and to welcome guests to the entertainment capital of the world.”

According to a D Las Vegas spokesperson, the hotel and casino team have been in constant observation with the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD), the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Occupational Safety and Health Origination (OSHA) websites regarding COVID-19. In preparation for the reopening, they have been learning the best practices from these expert organizations. Always taken pride in the level of cleanliness, they will continue to maintain over the top standards when welcoming team members and guests back to Downtown Las Vegas.

Team members have learned new practices to wear the proper use of PPE and hand washing techniques. There is a communication chain developed and practiced, in the event of a confirmed case. All necessary protocols have been developed to promote the safety of all involved when managing the situation.

Since 2012, the D Las Vegas helped bring visitors back to the historic Downtown Las Vegas area by offering a modern-day casino, and a hotel experience with 629 comfortable guest rooms and suites.

After months of anticipation, D Las Vegas is reopening and ready for some summer fun. Decorated with vintage touches of Las Vegas, the two-story casino offers blackjack tables, old and new slot machines, and some exclusive games you can’t find anywhere else.

The bars are open providing beer, wine and frozen specialty drinks and live entertainment. Home to the longest bar in Nevada, LONGBAR, a sports hub is open.
