Food, Beverage & Beauty Predictions for 2022

Pinterest Predicts is back for it’s eighth year, focusing on 175+ key trends they predict will rise in 2022. This new year is all about food, cocktails, beauty, wellbeing, travel, fashion, parenting and design. They analyzed 400 million+ monthly users around the world and spotlighted the most inspiring ideas to explore for the year ahead based on these emerging searches.

Here is what they predict is going to spike in 2022 and here are my predictions:

• Celebration & Food: Pinterest predicts from adoption parties to breakup cakes, people will take any reason to celebrate in 2022 with “Altbashes” trend. And when it comes to cuisine, people will go back to the basics with “Ancestral eats” from all over the world. Gen X and Boomers are saying goodbye to over-the-top eating experiences and embracing their roots with traditional food dishes from all over the globe. It’s the oral history.

I predict 2022 is all about Beehive Cheese. This Northern Utah based cheese company has received numerous Best American Cheese at the World Cheese Awards. Some of the cheese they craft include a humble cheddar elevated with spirited flavors that spark excitement and conversation. The Barely Buzzed is rubbed with rich roasted espresso and lavender, and is a five time winner of Best Flavored Cheddar in America and 15 other notable awards. Their Queen Bee Porcini ishand-rubbed with porcini mushrooms and winner of the Best American Cheese at World Cheese Awards 2021. They make a Red Butte Hatch Chile that is rubbed with chile powder and coriander on the rind and New Mexico Hatch chiles in the paste. It’s a Gold Medal winner at World Cheese Awards 2021, and Bronze Medal winner at the International Cheese & Dairy Awards 2021.

• Canned Cocktails Rule in 2022 and are more popular than ever after becoming one of the go-to drinks during lockdown. The International Wines and Spirits Record predicts canned cocktails will grow 35.5 percent over the next four years, surpassing the size in volume of all other spirits categories. Here are my favorites:

Cutwater makes a line of Margaritas featuring a bold tequila aroma with bright notes of lime and splash of orange in the mix. Their Tiki Rum Mai Tai is a frothy cocktail made with Cutwater Barrel Aged Rum, Bali Hai Tiki Gold Rum, pineapple, coconut, and citrus.

They also make a Bloody Mary in a can that packs a kick. They package many of their canned cocktails into variety packs for fans to celebrate their different flavors.

Geode, desert and constellation-inspired nail art are all trending up.
