Hotel Belmar in Costa Rica Celebrates Pride with Year Long Experiences

Recently named one of the 500 best hotels in the world by Travel + Leisure, carbon-neutral Hotel Belmar supports the LGBTQI+ community this summer and all year long with an array of initiatives, events and promotions. Located in Costa Rica’s Cloud Forest in Monteverde, the luxury ecolodge located in Monteverde, Costa Rica is known for its inclusivity, diversity and cultural experiences. 

On June 22^nd, the hotel invites visitors to participate in the LGBTQI+ workshop entitled “LGBTQI+ Social Activism, Empowerment, and Leadership in Rural Communities.” The event will focus on queer movements that have thrived outside of traditional urban centers. There will also be a general presentation on LGBTQI+ history. During these events and throughout June, 10% of every craft beer sold at Hotel Belmar will be donated to Monteverde Diverso, a local grassroots and advocacy non-profit.

The property is known for its inclusivity and cultural experiences. Its artist residency draws creative types from all over the world–and from all backgrounds–to seek inspiration in the cloud forests of beautiful Monteverde in Costa Rica. The hotel organizes LGBTQI+ themed experiences all year long, inviting queer musicians and guest speakers to be part of the Hotel Belmar experience. 

Earlier this year, the property collaborated with Monteverde Diverso to celebrate Monteverde’s second edition of its Pride parade. The hotel’s onsite bar and brewery, Cerveceria Belmar celebrated with live music, joining other local events including outdoor cinema and workshops that engaged families and the LGBTQI+ community.
