La Genisia is ready to embark on an overseas adventure

From the Oltrepò Pavese hills to the States, La Genisia is ready to embark on an overseas adventure to face the US market, and it will do so with some of its iconic wines, Pinot Noir red DOC and Cabernet Sauvignon DOC, worthy interpreters of their territory of origin, the third largest Italian area with a wine vocation and an undisputed land of excellence.

“The United States is a market that has traditionally always been attentive to our territory, the Oltrepò Pavese – comments Matteo Ghiara, President of the La Genisia winery – A historical bond that we now intend to develop above all by focusing on a product of excellence, that is, Pinot Noir, an internationally recognized vine that is attracting ever greater interest, both in our country and abroad, and our territory is immensely suited to it. We are determined to develop a product in the United States as well as what is already giving us great satisfaction in Great Britain, Brazil, and Japan with contacts that have been stable for some time now. What we want to do in the USA is to develop, in addition to the presence of Pinot Noir vinified in red, also that of Pinot Noir vinified via the Classic Method, a very high-quality product that is becoming a signature flag for La Genisia”.

Twenty experienced winemakers for 70 hectares of vineyards in the province of Pavia, cultivated with dedication and with constant attention to analysis and research on the terroir, solid teamwork oriented towards the creation of wines that can interpret and express all the excellence of this land by involving the consumer in all its authenticity. The La Genisia project aims at projecting into the future the deep bond with a privileged territory, the Lombardy of wine, not far from the Apennine ranges but where you can still breathe the sea air, a variety that transforms into a rich range of nuances that give the wines great overall harmony.

Pinot Nero La Genisia
La Genisia’s is an enological approach, which started from the key project of zoning, a long process of monitoring that made it possible to draw a detailed identikit of the territory by profiling each vineyard according to specific factors: soil composition, environmental and meteorological conditions. This makes it possible to provide winegrowers with valuable information on methods of cultivation that guarantee grapes of ever-better quality, starting with Pinot Noir, the main variety in Oltrepò Pavese, and then extending to other blends in the coming years. A real dialogue in the supply chain that is constantly being updated to promote the maximum expression of the terroir, making sure that it is perceivable in every sip.
