Luxurious American Cities You Have to Visit at Least Once in Your Lifetime
The US is a seriously special place, as it offers everything you could want from a vacation destination. There are wide open spaces, natural wonders and of course some of the biggest and best urban areas in the world to explore.
If you are intent on chasing the luxury lifestyle on your trip, then there are definitely a few cities that should be high on your bucket list. Here are just the top options for an opulent American escape.
Miami
Extensively featured in films and TV shows, Miami is a tropical paradise that offers sun, sea and surf, all within walking distance of luxurious hotels, leading restaurants and exceptional nightlife venues.
There are so many things to do in Miami, whether you stroll through hip neighborhoods like Coconut Grove, see how the other half live on Fisher Island, or dress to impress for an evening at Miami Beach.
Another advantage of visiting Miami is that the weather is warm for most of the year, so even a trip in the winter will let you enjoy mild temperatures.
New York City
If you’ve never been to NYC, then your life simply isn’t complete. For many people it’s the center of the universe, and it will only take a short trip to see why.
Both culturally and financially it outclasses almost anywhere else in the country, and yet it can also feel more manageable than some other sprawling metropolises, since each neighborhood feels like its own distinct place.
Whether you want to dine out at acclaimed eateries, see the shows everyone is talking about on Broadway, or sip a cocktail in the rooftop bar at the Rockefeller Center, there are experiences aplenty to make you feel special.
Las Vegas
Few other cities can match Las Vegas in terms of their scope and ambition. The casino resorts that cluster along the world-famous Strip are some of the most outlandish and eye-catching structures around, and each one is crammed with things to see and do.
As well as donning a suit or dress and heading to the gaming floors, you can also spend days wandering through the rest of these mega-complexes, where luxury shopping experiences are prominently featured. The best-known high end brands all have a presence here, so if you’ve budgeted for it you can go wild.
Los Angeles
LA covers a vast area, and not all of its neighborhoods are as well-heeled as others. However, if you pick the right part to visit then you will see luxury like nothing else imaginable.
Beverly Hills is the obvious choice, and it doesn’t disappoint. You are very likely to see A-list celebrities on Rodeo Drive shopping at one of the many fashion boutiques, or dining at classy establishments. And of course even if you could never afford one of the mansions that line the wide boulevards, you can still soak up the atmosphere with a tour.
San Francisco
A few hours up the coast from LA, the bayside city of San Francisco is a little breezier, but no less well appointed from the perspective of travelers looking for luxury.
Some of the finest seafood restaurants in the US are found here, and it also caters to retail enthusiasts, bar hoppers and culture vultures.
So long as you pack for the changeable weather, and book in advance to get a good deal on accommodation, San Fran is a veritable delight no matter what your preferences. If you have to visit just one city in California, this might be the one to pick.
