Modern Luxury to Relaunch Scottsdale Magazine

Scottsdale Magazine Premier Issue Photo: Maralyn D. HillLifestyle publisher Modern Luxury is redesigning, reinvigorating, and relaunching the new Scottsdale Magazine. We were invited to attend one of the relaunch events  for a fashion-forward culinary journey, combining diverse couture by Neiman Marcus and cocktails accompanied by delectable bites by T. Cook’s at the Royal Palms Resort & Spa.

The relaunced T.Cook’s, with its new Mix Up Bar, provided a perfect combination for this captivating evening.

Elegance encompassed the surroundings, with hues of purple, deep blues, and jewel tones dominating the evening dresses. Black, white, gold and silver did accent the jewels. This season is displaying many high necklines with deeply cut backs, drawing your eye to the curve of the spine.

Neiman Marcus set up various displays to showcase its Ken Downing Gift Collection. It paired with the gowns to perfection.

T. Cook’s mouthwatering bites included: Colorado lamb, seared scallops, duck confit, pomegranate macaroons, Meyer lemon

meringue tarts and chocolate financier. The Mix Up Bar’s featured cocktails were “Four Shades of Grey,” and “Wild Saffron,” along with wine, champagne, and anything else you desired. Norm and I indulged in the Wild Saffron, made with Square One Organic Vodka, and we’d highly recommend it. These signature cocktails matched the elegance of the evening.

Scottsdale Magazine launched November 15 and Luxe Beat Magazine November 25. One is focusing a city and the other the world, but many of our goals are the same.

Publisher of Scottsdale Magazine, Michael Hiatt, states his magazines goals for Scottsdale that are very much in line with those we have on a global scale. Hiatt said, “In every issue of Scottsdale magazine, we will deliver the very best the Valley has to offer. We want to introduce to you—even if you’re just visiting—people, places and events that will amp up your knowledge of what’s hot in the community. Think of every issue as us handing you the keys to what’s new and exciting, right here, right now… Dare to be inspired by this incredible city and to make new discoveries daily.”

Another interesting parallel is this premier issue focused on philanthropy. Luxe Beat Magazine is a small magazine by comparison to Modern Luxury publisher, with 43 luxury city magazines, but we also focus on philanthropy.  Their model is certainly an excellent learning tool.

As Executive Editor of Luxe Beat Magazine, I wish to thank Scottsdale Magazine for including Norm and me in their premier event and know they will achieve great success. In addition, we had a splendid evening and enjoyed seeing current trends in fashion, gifts, and lifestyle.
