Savoy Signature Appoints Roberto Santa Clara as CEO
Savoy Signature, a leading name in the luxury hotel industry, proudly announces the appointment of Roberto Santa Clara as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This strategic move reflects Savoy Signature’s commitment to its projected expansion strategy and reinforces its position as a pioneer in the hospitality sector.
Formerly the Director of Madeira Airports, Santa Clara started his career in 1996 as the Marketing Director of Empresa de Cervejas da Madeira. In the 20 years following, he held high-level positions as the Deputy Director of Madeira Airport and Deputy Director of Lisbon Airport before returning back to Madeira Promotion Bureau as Executive Director in 2020.

With a background in Marketing and Advertising, Santa Clara has been recognized for his extensive experience managing large organizations and market-leading companies, specifically in the airport, tourism, travel, and consumer goods sectors. In his new role as CEO, he will be responsible for spearheading the evolution of Savoy Signature’s destinations, defining and executing strategic initiatives, and focusing on brand coordination and expansion.
Santa Clara brings robust proficiency in business development, international relations, collaboration, and strategic planning, underscored by his outstanding managerial and forward-thinking aptitude, alongside his demonstrated prowess in leadership and effective team administration. A standout achievement during his tenure was the establishment of the inaugural base of a budget airline on Madeira Island, Ryanair. Furthermore, under his leadership, the launch of the first-ever direct flight connecting Madeira Island with New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) was created. Noteworthy strides were also made in operations for Wizz Air and EasyJet at Madeira Airport, resulting in remarkable surges in passenger traffic and noteworthy enhancements in their operational performance metrics.
