Women Love Driving The Polaris Slingshot
To truly activate all five senses, there is no other ride quite like a Polaris Slingshot. One feels as if they are on an amusement park ride when pushing the ON button, then the “D” button, rev the engine and drive the open-air, three-wheeled vehicle. With a low center of gravity, the driver and passenger get a front-row, side-by-side bucket seat experience on every twist and turn.
The designers fused creative style and excitement that empowers women and men, as heads turn to see the sleek design cruising residential and city streets. One can’t help but smile and wave.
The first Slingshot debuted as a three-wheel motorcycle, and was built as a 5-speed manual. Starting in 2020, the Slingshot was also built as a 5-speed AutoDrive Automated Manual Transmission. Thanks to a new “autocycle” classification, you do not need a motorcycle license to drive the vehicle, just a standard drivers license. Now 49 states have classified Slingshot/three-wheelers as an Autocycle.
The Slingshot’s 2022 reintroduction of the SLR model is a blending of the SL and R models, creating an ultimate combination of style and performance. The fierce all-new designed vented Sport Hood improves aerodynamics and cockpit airflow via vented fenders and hood scoop. The hood is standard on R models and available for upgrade to all 2020-2022 models.
Exciting features the Slingshot R packs includes the ProStar four-cylinder with 203 horsepower, and the sporty two-tone paint scheme exterior. Other upgrades include four-piston Brembo brakes and painted front calipers. They are available as an upgrade kit for all other models, and come in red or orange, with the front rotors 14% larger that the standard front brake rotors.
On the steering wheel are paddle shifters for AutoDrive, and the seven-inch touchscreen display powered by RIDE COMMAND. It also offers turn-by-turn navigation, and connected services including Apple CarPlay.
Safety features in the vehicle include three-point seat belts in the center that click into the side buckle and a front double wishbone suspension with an anti-roll bar. There are no airbags, so it is recommended that the driver and passenger wear a full face motorcycle helmet.
The vehicle doesn’t have doors or side windows, but it does have a dual cup holder. The interior of the open car is waterproof, so you can hose down the exterior and interior, and water will drain out the holes in the floor.
Women enjoy driving the Polaris Slingshot to de-stress, run an errand and drive away for a long getaway staycation. There is something about the feel of the wind, with the warmth of the sunshine, while hearing the sounds of the open road that is healing.
