6 Safety Features to Look for When Buying a Luxury Car

From the performance to the comfort and class, no feeling is greater than being behind the wheel of a newly purchased automobile! Modern luxury cars come with a range of safety features that you should definitely know of when approaching the automobile market for one.

With this being said, below are six safety features you might want to look for when buying a luxury car.

1. Adaptive Cruise Control

Most luxury cars today come with what is known as an adaptive cruise control system, which automatically measures the distance between your ride and the vehicle in front using a set of cameras, sensors, or both. The driver doesn’t really have to struggle much to keep a safe distance from the car ahead, especially while cruising a jammed highway.

Mercedes Benz

The primary benefit of the latest model is each new luxury car brand seems to be much safer than its predecessor. In 2022, some cars with this incredibly useful feature include the Lexus CS, 2022 Volvo V60 Recharge, and Audi A3 2023, just to name a few. Many mid-segment models also come equipped with ACC systems.

2. Parking Assist

From the Peugeot 308 to the C-Class Mercedes Benz, many luxury cars come with the parking assist feature. If you’re one of those people who don’t enjoy parallel parking, this feature is a must.

3. Driver Attention Monitor

Driver attention monitor is another safety feature that comes with a lot of handy capabilities. As the name suggests, it monitors the driver’s attention level. If a driver becomes distracted this program will engage the automatic braking system, bringing the vehicle to a full stop.

4. Electronic Stability Control System

When shopping around for a luxury car, it’s good to again, you should look for an option that offers an electronic stability control system. You never know when you might need to use it. Electronic stability control works to detect when a car is on a slippery road. It is designed to automatically engage the anti-lock brakes or both if the car begins to slide off the road for whatever reason

5. Lane Tracing Assist

Some luxury cars come with a lane tracing assist. With this system, it’s possible to steer the vehicle around a single lane, and also see the indicator lights of the opposite lane when you need to merge back to that lane. In other words, you no longer have to worry about lane drift while on the road, making it an amazing safety feature.

6. Assisted Braking System

Sometimes, the easiest way to avoid a collision with the vehicle in front is to take your foot off the brake pedal, but you have to avoid hitting the car. This is where the assisted braking system comes in. This system automatically applies the brakes as soon as it senses that you’re about to hit the car in front of you.

What if You’re Hit By a Reckless Driver?

Driving a luxury car with all these and other safety features in place doesn’t guarantee maximum safety while on the road… at least not 100%. You can do everything by the book and still have a reckless driver cause an accident. If you or a loved one have been hit by a reckless driver and suffered injuries as a result, you should speak with the personal injury lawyers at Dolman Law Group about your legal options and whether you can file a personal injury claim.
