The Centre For Well-Being at The Phoenician

The Centre For Well-Being at The Phoenician

While my husband Norm and I spent a few days at The Phoenician, we were fortunate enough to spend an afternoon at The Center for Well-Being (CFWB). It is easy to refer to their use off  “rebirth, rejuvenate, and renewal” in describing the experience, and the sense of well-being that seeps through your body upon entering the building.

The Phoenician SpaThe CFWB describes itself as a retreat for body, mind and spirit. “According to ancient legend, the mythical phoenix rose from the ashes of its past to be reborn and celebrate renewal. This power of transformation, whether of the body, spirit or mind, is inherent to the philosophy of The Centre for Well-Being. Our spa rituals lead to inner calm, self-revelation and harmony with one’s own natural rhythms. Like the mythical phoenix, one’s body is a powerful change master – but it is the spirit that transforms.”

Personally, I always like to know the philosophy of a spa to see if it is consistent with what I experienced. Frequently, it’s not. It this case, expectations were met and exceeded.

Norm enjoyed the 50- minute Shea Butter Treatment with Honey Avocado Foot Therapy.  Shea butter was massaged all over his body, followed by a hydrating foot therapy and massage. This was great for his dry skin. He was shocked at how fast  his skin absorbed the Shea Butter and Honey Avocado.

The Phoenician SpaWhile he was enjoying his massage, I opted for the 80-minute Phoenician’s Finest Facial. This treatment begins with a pharmaceutical-grade vitamin-c enzyme peel, which they say prepares the skin for an oxygen infusion. This consists of Hyaluronic acid and antioxidants. After, a green tea serum is applied, which helps skin renewal. My skin was rehydrated and fine lines somewhat diminished–I felt wonderful.

If I were dreaming, I’d enjoy a week with three treatments a day, leaving me free to write in the evening. Time in between services would be for enjoying the pools and relaxation room and just unwinding.  When I would awake in the morning, I’d walk through the garden out the front doors up the hill. It is all so beautiful. The grounds and surroundings place you in the midst of Nirvana. I have led workshops at spas and been able to absorb the positive energy that flows through them when they are as focused as the CFWB.

I especially like the pricing on various services in the Well-Being Packages, as they include the service charges. Packages run a broad range from Bliss—the ultimate spa indulgence; Rejuvenate—massage, facial, pedicure, etc.; Phoenician Classic with two 50-minute services of your choice; Mother-To-Be—prenatal massage, facial and pedicure; Soul Journey—Chakra Balancing Treatment, Tarot reading or Visualize with personalized meditation; Couples Massage—side-by-side Swedish or Therapeutic massage; The Perfect Pair—60 minute couple’s massage, manicure and pedicure for her and energizing pedicure and Aveda scalp treatment for him; Glamour-to-Go—Luxurious manicure and pedicure followed by a comprehensive make-up lesson, shampoo and fashionable blow-dry; Out on the Town; Head turning evening hairstyle, complemented by flawless mineral make-up application; One-on-One Personal Training Series; and Pilates 50 Training Series.
