Etude Winery Practices Sustainability and Holistic Winemaking
Earth Month is a great time to bring awareness to incorporating environmentally conscious and sustainable practices to producing wine. Etude Winery practices holistic winemaking while creating some of the finest wines made in California.
Located at the north end of San Pablo Bay, the bucolic Carneros wine region stretches across both Napa and Sonoma wine country. Etude Winery is committed to stewarding its land and preserving native ecosystems by practicing integrated farming practices, while making Etude Winery Carneros Pinot Noir and Carneros Pinot Gris.
To reduce the use of tractors, the winery welcomes sheep to graze in the vineyards. As a steward of the Carneros terroir, they dedicate two-thirds of their Grace Benoist Ranch estate vineyard to preserving wetlands and woodlands.
To reflect this ethos of the winery, Etude Winery has partnered with the Xerces Society to cultivate a native, water-wise habitat that supports wetland restoration and woodland habitats that crisscross the ranch. Minimal if any irrigation, invites Monarch butterflies and other pollinators.
Etude Winery 2020 Carneros Pinot Noir is a garnet-colored Pinot Noir that is youthful and vibrant. Red berry fruit aromas grace the palate with each sip. Flavorful red raspberry and Bing cherry awaken your senses, as the mouthfeel provides a bright and lively caramel and spiced clove essence. This wine is ethereal and soft with a fresh core of acidity. Pair with a variety of healthy culinary dishes. SRP is $47.
Etude Winery 2020 Pinot Gris is the quintessential Spring and Summer wine. Not only does it provide lovely floral aromatics with tropical notes of guava and white peach, its delicate and creamy mouthfeel provides a long and satisfying finish. Pinot Gris pairs well with a sustainably minded dinner made with ingredients from local farmer markets.. SRP is $32.
