With approximately 600 hotels vying for your attention in Dubai, just about the last thing they need is a new hotel…unless, of course, it belongs to The Oberoi Group, synonymous with the finest level of contemporary luxury and service.

Oberoi’s first property in the UAE, The Oberoi Dubai, which opened last month, is all about height, light and space. The 252 spacious rooms and suites boast floor-to-ceiling windows, with spectacular views of the city skyline.

Timber floors, rich fabrics, hand-tufted rugs and specially commissioned artwork further accentuate the elegance of the rooms, which range from 52 square meters Deluxe rooms to the 235 square metre Presidential Suite, which features a master bedroom, living room, dining area, study room, powder room, a pantry, plunge pool, terrace area and a security room. And, but of course, you’ll be provided with a round-the-clock personal butler service. If I check in there, I’m never checking out!

Dining options include a contemporary Pan-Asian restaurant – Umai, serves a wide raPG_DU_18nge of Asian cuisines which includes Chinese, Thai, Indonesian and Japanese specialties. The restaurant also offers guests an inventive culinary experience at two Teppanyaki counters and a stylish Sushi Bar.  Nine7One offers food from nine countries, seven days a week at one destination. The all-day-dining restaurant offers the best of world cuisine. Ananta is the Indian specialty restaurant that features a show kitchen with traditional tandoors. The signature dishes include a variety of North Indian Delicacies and a special daily selection of Indian coastal specialties.

Recreation facilities at The Oberoi, Dubai include state of the art gymnasium, outdoor swimming pool, indoor lap pool and The Oberoi Spa and Fitness Centre. The Oberoi Spa  and fitness center are the first and the only to offer twenty four hours Spa service in Dubai. The Zen-like spa is comprised of seven therapy rooms, each offering a private treatment and relaxation area, an en-suite steam shower and personal washroom and a special couple’s spa room equipped with its own terrace pool and space for the last word in private recreation and contemplation. The 2 ½ hour Anti-Stress Recovery treatment (think Exfoliating vanilla body bliss, Shiroabyanga is the first thing I’m signing up for after that long flight.
