Chef Curtis Stone At The 2024 Breeders’ Cup World Championship
The world’s most prestigious and luxurious sporting event, the 2024 Breeders’ Cup World Championship will take place in Del Mar, California on Nov. 1 and Nov. 2, 2024.
The Breeders’ Cup World Championships is an action-packed, two-day, 14-race, year-end culmination showcasing the fastest horses, favorite jockeys, trainers, and owners from across the globe. There will be $34 million dollars paid out in purses and awards over the entire weekend.
Unlike other iconic races, the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes, the Breeders’ Cup is a collection of races. Each race determines a World Champion in a specific class.
It all starts with ‘Future Stars Friday’, where the sport’s star Juvenile (two-year-old) sprinters seek to win the $1 million dollar purse.
On Saturday, the Breeders’ Cup will crown nine more World Champions across different divisions, including the season-defining $7 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic. Known as ‘Where The Turf Meets The Surf’, the Del Mar racetrack is one of the crown jewels in San Diego. Not only does the venue offer ideal weather in November and gorgeous Pacific coastline views, it also hosts an array of exciting events.
The beachside village is an ideal host for the ‘Super Bowl’ of horse racing drawing visitors from around the world. Horse fans and celebrities including Elizabeth Banks, Carson Kressley and Chef Bobby Flay enjoy Del Mar’s high-end and beachfront resorts, international restaurants, art galleries and beach walks where the rolling waves meet the soft golden sand.
This year, Michelin-starred Curtis Stone will entice diners with his exclusive menus for The Breeders’ Cup Premium Dining areas. Diners will enjoy a world-class culinary experience, similar to what guests receive at his award-winning Los Angeles restaurant, Gwen. Stone will prepare an elevated gourmet menu that includes Coq au Vin Blanc, pan roasted herb shrimp, Shiraz braised short rib, along with salads, sides and desserts.
Chef Curtis Stone’s acclaimed restaurants also include Woodend by Curtis Stone at Maroma, a Belmond Hotel in the Riviera Maya, Mexico.
