Best digital nomad visa destinations to consider
Traveling the world whilst working from your laptop has become the modern-day dream. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, travelling for work has become difficult. Some areas of the world have introduced work and travel visas to boost tourism in these areas. Get your passports ready – here’s where you can visit as a digital nomad.
Antigua & Barbuda
This beautiful Caribbean island nation has released a visa designed for use by digital nomads. It’s known as the Nomad Digital Residence (NDR) and can be used by remote workers who are able to prove that they are able to support themselves and anyone who’s joining them on their travels.
This visa lasts for two years as long as visitors can maintain their own health insurance.
The clear blue waters of Antigua are home to Stingray City – a plethora of stingrays that you can visit and feed. There are also opportunities to explore the jungle from heights, making this an ideal spot for digital nomads to visit and blog about.
Costa Rica
Costa Rica is the perfect destination for digital nomads who enjoy a relaxed lifestyle full of beautiful beaches, superb surfing spots and incredible landscapes with waterfalls and volcanoes as far as the eye can see.
If you’re looking to get a visa to stay here, you’ll want to research Rentista. This allows freelancers to stay for up to two years, with the possibility of extending. You must however be self-employed and not employed by another country.
Croatia
Croatia is a popular hotspot for its vibrant nightlife, beautiful coastlines, and music scene. Since January 2021 Croatia has been allowing digital nomads to try the Croatian life with a digital nomad visa.
Available at a maximum of 12 months at a time, this visa allows you to explore what Croatia has to offer, such as visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and visiting the 8 stunning national parks, including the breath-taking Plitvice Lakes.
Iceland
If you prefer the cold weather and snow as opposed to beaches and sand, then Iceland is the perfect place to continue your nomadic journey. With a long-term via available for remote workers and digital nomads, there’s plenty to see and do across this beautiful country.
During your 6-month stay, try to catch a view of the Northern Lights, and go on a whale watching excursion to see some of the world’s most spectacular views. This destination is like something out of a fairy-tale and can inspire a captivating video or blog post or two.
