Cunard Cruise Line Brings Le Gavroche Residencies At Sea Back
The luxury British cruise line Cunard Cruise Line celebrates the exclusive Le Gavroche residencies at sea this year. The two Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux is bringing his iconic London restaurant to guests onboard Cunard Queen Anne and Queen Mary 2.
The award-winning chef closed his popular Mayfair venue on January 13, 2024, and will now oversee four Le Gavroche residencies across Cunard Cruise Line four exciting Fjords voyages in 2024. Chef Michel will be preparing and serving a five-course tasting menu infused with flavors of the sea.
“It is an absolute privilege to bring Le Gavroche to Cunard’s Queens, reuniting with their hugely talented and passionate culinary development chefs as we strive to create menus inspired by the treasures of Norwegian cuisine,” said Chef Michel Roux. “The culinary heritage of Norway is a tapestry of flavors, and together with Cunard, I look forward to weaving these elements into an extraordinary dining experience at Sir Samuel’s and The Verandah.”
During these voyages, Michel will enlighten passengers as an Insight Speaker in the Royal Court Theater, regaling guests with stories from his illustrious 40-plus-year career in the hospitality industry.
The exclusive series will be delivered in partnership with the Norwegian Seafood Council. The first sailing with Le Gavroche at The Verandah will be aboard Cunard’s flagship Queen Mary 2 during her sailing to Hardangerfjord on June 2, 2024.
This one-of-a-kind five-night residency for guests is available for an additional charge. It will cater to 60 diners each evening, showcasing Roux’s signature seafood specialties and elevated culinary classics.
Chef Roux will also host a second residency aboard Queen Mary 2 for her Hamburg roundtrip Fjords voyage on August 6, 2024.
Also in August, Roux will prepare another intimate, five-night takeover with Le Gavroche at Sir Samuel’s on-board Cunard’s newest ship Queen Anne as she departs for Stavanger in Norway on August 11. This exclusive dining experience will cater for 50 guests each night.
The Le Gavroche custodian will complete his quartet of takeovers with a further Norwegian residency on Queen Anne on September 1 as she sails to Haugesund.
During these voyages, Roux will also appear as an Insights Speaker in the Royal Court Theatre, regaling guests with stories from his illustrious 40-plus-year career in the hospitality industry.
Chef Roux will also be creating an exclusive gala menu for Queen Anne’s Queens Grill and Princess Grill restaurants, as well as a new Golden Lion menu full of refined pub favorites for Cunard’s newest ship.

The 2024 voyages that Michel Roux will be sailing on include Queen Anne in August and September, 2024.
On the Queen Mary 2, the June 2024 cruise will feature Chef Roux, and the Queen Mary 2, August 2024 will showcase the chef’s seafood delights.
There are currently three Cunard ships, Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria and a fourth ship, Queen Anne is set to sail in 2024.
