Dining Delights In Greater Palm Springs During Restaurant Week

Greater Palm Springs Restaurant Week is starting on June 3, for residents and visitors to enjoy 10 days of special multi-course lunch and dinners. Menus are available throughout 9 cities that makes up the desert oasis. From Palm Springs to Indio, restaurants are offering a discounted menu until June 12, 2022.

No passes, tickets or coupons are required for this special event. Make a reservation on the website or call the restaurant directly. Walk-ins are welcome, but there is no guarantee that walk-in guests will be accommodated.

In addition to the Restaurant Week menus, participating restaurants are also offering their regular al la carte menus. Since I recently returned from the desert and enjoyed dining at many of the restaurants, here is my Greater Palm Springs Dining Guide:

PALM SPRINGS

4 Saints is the highest rooftop lounge, bar and restaurant in Palm Springs. It’s located on the seventh floor of The Rowan a Kimpton Hotel.  Sit inside at the bar for a festive cocktail or out on a dining terrace for a 270-degree view of the desert. Executive chef Ysaac Ramirez prepares local ingredients into creative Southern and Latin inspired menu items. His cornbread is topped with sweetened pecans, crispy chicken skin, butter and chives. The scallop crudo in yellow Tiger’s Milk, has bright red Fresno chilis, and chopped chives. Entrees include dry-aged steaks, freshly caught seafood and seasonal vegetables infused with bold, smoky flavors.

Another wonderful chef in the desert is Executive Chef Kieran Fleming at Agua Caliente Casino in Palm Springs. Besides preparing award winning dishes at The Steakhouse, he is preparing a Restaurant Week menu at 360 Sports. This Sports Bar will have a special three-course $35 lunch, that includes a choice of tomato bisque or ahi poke, avocado salad for an appetizer. Entrees include a smoked salmon salad, gourmet prime burger or chicken pillard. Finish with strawberries and cream or a coffee creme brûlée.

Mr. Lyon is offering a $59 dinner menu on Wednesday through Sunday. Happy Hour begins at 6 to 7 pm. On June 11 from 2 to 4 pm, learn to mix and shake it up with Mr. Lyons Master Mixologist. The fully interactive class led by Steen Bojsen Moller will share his expertise in making iconic cocktails to sip, learn about and enjoy a good laugh.

TRIO owner Tony Marchese now has Executive Chef Phillip Martin preparing a $39 multi-course dinner menu. Sit outside on the front dining patio for fascinating people watching in Uptown Palm Springs, while enjoying an array of salads, grilled items and creative beverages.

CATHEDRAL CITY

Daniel’s Table is offering an organic, fresh seasonal amuse bouche and five-courses dinner for $99 per person. Enjoy with a wine pairing for an additional $40 per bottle. Menus highlights include red quinoa salad with Medjool dates, seabass and Steelhead salmon, beef brisket and bison short ribs. Finish with a flourless chocolate torte.

INDIAN WELLS

Citrus & Palm at the Miramonte Resort and Spa is offering a $25 three-course lunch  featuring a Caesar salad and Build Your Own Grain Bowl. Finish with a slice of New York Cheesecake or scoops of ice cream. Come back for dinner to enjoy a three-course dinner menu for $49, featuring creamy corn soup or a Bibb lettuce salad, penne pasta al fresco bowl or Mediterranean chicken and dessert.
 
GLO Sushi

Across the street at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa, dine outside overlooking the pool at Cava or at GLO Sushi restaurant next to the soaring ceiling hotel bar and lounge. Chefs Shin and Chai prepare an array of creative fresh sushi, sashimi, and signature rolls to enjoy with a variety of sake options.
 

INDIO

The Fantasy Springs Casino offers three different Restaurant Week dinner menus starting at Joy Asian Cuisine for a three-course $49 special. At POM enjoy their POM’s famous chicken tortilla soup, a Caesar salad and Tuscan brick chicken for $39. The Bistro has a three-course $59 dinner menu that includes a baby kale and arugula salad, salmon with risotto carbonara and a phyllo wrapped banana and white chocolate dessert.

LA QUINTA
Café California has a special $25 lunch menu that includes a watermelon and prosciutto  salad or a crab cake salad or chilled gazpacho with crusty bread for starters. Next select a Cafe BLT and Egg sandwich or Farm salad with poached salmon or a summer vegetable and avocado wrap. For $5 select a slice of cheesecake, a brownie or lemon berry scone. A glass of wine or a mimosa is $9 from 8 am to 3 pm.

PALM DESERT

Kitchen 86 Restaurant and Bar is one of the hottest spots on El Paseo during the day and in the evening with music and dancing. Chef Abel Gonzalez is known around town for his delicious Boom-Boom shrimp, salads, wood-fired pizzas and pastas. The restaurant is offering a special $25 lunch and $49 dinner.

RANCHO MIRAGE

At the Westin Mission Hills Pinzimini has a daily three-course dinner for $59 from 5 to 9 pm. Menu highlights include chicory endive salad, shrimp scampi linguine, grilled fennel crusted pork chop and a crimson apple tart with vanilla bean gelato.
