The Hyatt Regency Irvine is wrapping up a $55 million renovation, including upgrades to the lobby, guestrooms, suites, meeting spaces, pool, and other public areas. Located at 17900 Jamboree Rd, Irvine, CA 92614, the hotel is an ideal stopover between Los Angeles and San Diego for travelers and families.

Rooms and Renovations

Whether you’re on a business trip or traveling with kids, the hotel has amenities and 516 guest rooms to suit your needs. I stayed with my infant and had a crib sent up to the room. It made staying with a baby easy without bringing bulky extra gear from home.

Families will appreciate the Kids Suite, which has two bathrooms, a balcony with seating for four, and a dedicated room for kids with a queen bed and full-size bunk beds. Parents can safely have their children in the adjoining room while they sleep in a king bed.

For the largest accommodation, opt for the Hospitality Suite, which has one king bedroom, two bathrooms, a queen sleeper sofa in the living area, a conference table, foosball, and other luxury amenities. The 14,600-square-foot Regency Ballroom, outdoor lawn, 22 meeting rooms, and other event spaces make the Irvine hotel ideal for hosting a wedding or conference.

Amenities

Hyatt Regency Irvine has amenities and perks to keep guests feeling cared for. Hang out in the lobby or dining area with places to plug in laptops or charge your phone. The chairs and tables are chic and comfortable for enjoying a meal or sending off an email. There are also small phone booth rooms where you can close the door and blinds to take a call or rock a baby for nap time.

The 24-hour gym has two Peloton® Bikes, free weights, and other equipment to support your workout even when you’re on the go, no matter what time of day. Hydration stations with still and sparkling water are sprawled throughout the hotel, allowing you to refill your water bottles during your stay. You can purchase aluminum water bottles to refill or use the paper cone cup for a quick drink. The Market’s to-go boxes are also paper.

Rooms have coffee makers with pods of coffee, decaf coffee, and tea for a warm beverage. Bathroom amenities include a hairdryer and small envelopes with cotton swabs, cotton rounds, and shoe covers. Other amenities include laundry service, business services, in-room Chromecast, and free internet access.

On-Site Food

Warehouse 72 Restaurant & Bar is slated to open in July 2024 to serve American fare. Until then, the on-site Market allows guests to grab a quick bite to eat. They have prepared foods for breakfast from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., such as pastries, steel-cut oatmeal, or frittata.

All-day dining starts at 11 a.m. and goes until 10 p.m. with options such as chicken pesto panini or Koreon BBQ chicken wings. I tried a range of items from the menu and the BBQ wings were my favorite; they were tender, flavorful, and nicely charred. The Market also has plenty of napkins, condiment packets, and even whole milk, half and half, and almond milk for your coffee.

Should you require something after 10 p.m., you can get drinks and snacks from the refrigerators, scan them on the self-serve kiosk, and pay with your credit card. The fridges have drinks like kombucha, orange juice, iced tea, and water. Loyalty members can hang out in the private Regency Club, with additional seating, meals, and drinks on tap.

Pools and Cabanas

Spend a warm day at Hyatt Regency Irvine’s pool, designed by GREC Architects, which features a walk-in pool, water slides, and shaded loungers. Book a cabana where you can spend the day. Kids will love the two water slides that have their own pool area, so those leisurely swimming won’t get splashed. You don’t have to be a guest to get a cabana, either. You can book one through Resortpass to secure a spot. The pool has a 24-by-17-foot LED screen where they play movies and more.

The 14-story hotel‘s renovations make it a rejuvenating spot to stay in Orange County. It has family and work-friendly aspects with extra touches to enjoy your experience. Once Warehouse 72 opens in July, you won’t have to leave the hotel for a sit down meal or cocktail. Consider Hyatt Regency Irvine for your next trip, which is close to other Southern California cities.
