John Geiger, The Steal Boyz Drop “JG X Steal Boyz Vol 2” Release

Superstar streetwear designer John Geiger, is one of the hottest names in sneakerhead culture, with his highly coveted shoes selling out within minutes after being released online. His craft sets an even higher standard for what today’s younger generation considers to be modernized luxury.

But don’t expect to find the extremely popular sneakers in any sneaker store like Foot Locker or Dick’s Sporting Goods. All of his designs are direct-to-consumer via his design studio, John Geiger Co., available only on his website or pop-ups spanning his hometown of Pittsburgh all the way to Paris.

Geiger’s latest drop came on September 9, 2023, where he announced the upcoming release of “JG X Steal Boyz Vol 2,” in collaboration with The Steal Boyz

And this one isn’t one to miss, if you’re able to get your hands on one of these sweet pairs of pastel-infused sneakers.

Building on the acclaim received from their first collaboration – “Steal Force 1’s – Geiger and The Steal Boyz are back with a new collection that promises to be even more captivating – and one that brings out Geiger’s meticulous dyeing techniques.

The highlight of this collection is the “Pastel Pack,” which showcases six serene pastel shades: Purple, Pink, Mint, Blue, Orange, and Lime. Unique to this limited-edition collection is the hand-dyed and customized process that ensures each pair is an individual work of art.

“I see it similar to music,” Geiger told Luxe Beat ahead of the drop. “Artists love to collaborate with other talented artists, and for me, I want to use my platform to build up other talented designers I believe in.”

At $250 per pair, each shoe in the “JG X Steal Boyz Vol 2” release includes an extra set of matching dyed laces and a complimentary pair of dyed John Geiger socks.

Each shoe was crafted as part of an intricate design process, beginning with The Steal Boyz removing the laces, insoles, and hardware. From there, the sneakers are then delicately immersed in a dye vat, allowing the vibrant colors to seep in.

“We always loved color play when creating alongside The Stealboyz, basing everything off vintage, because that’s where we started. We love innovating pieces that were damaged or stained with stitching and dying. We took that same concept and applied them to the GF-01s,” he shared.

Once the desired hues have shown through, Geiger said the sneakers are then air-dried and undergo an extremely stringent hand-distressing process. Each shoe is then adorned with a unique cross-stitch around the color.

As for what Geiger has planned for his next project, he revealed to Luxe Beat that SZN 4 is coming in October, marking an exciting first time that he brings Hand Bags to the market under the John Geiger brand.

“I would love to continue to build on this series and do more collaborations with up-and-coming, talented designers, and of course, Steal Boyz Volume 3, coming soon,” he concluded.

A few months ago, Geiger dropped his new “JG Slide,” which Hypebeast described as a “new footwear silhouette” with a biodegradable EVA foam.

During last year’s Miami Art Basel, Geiger appeared at the AXE x One37PM lounge alongside  Gary Vaynerchuk and 3D artist nes100pro as part of Vaunerchuk’s SCOPE installation.
