During the naming ceremony of the Utopia of the Seas at the Port Canaveral (Orlando), singer Meghan Trainor and her family boarded the ship to sail with over a thousand invited guests on a short 3-night “World’s Biggest Weekend.”

There was not one empty seat at the official naming party, as guests sipped refreshing Aperol Spritz cocktails in colorful Utopia of the Seas plastic stemware.

Bagpipe performers led Trainor linked arms with Jason Liberty, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean Group into the Aqua Theater. Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean International followed behind as everyone took a seat.

A high note was when Trainor performed her debut single “All About That Bass” live for the audience. Also in attendance were more than 50 of Trainor’s fans and their guests. These lucky cruisers received a complimentary cruise and and attended her concert onboard. All they had to do to wine was follow @royalcaribbean on Instagram, tag a plus one in the comments and use the hashtags #utopiaoftheseas and #sweepstakes.

“Becoming Utopia’s godmother and being here for this incredible celebration with Royal Caribbean is a dream come true,” said Meghan Trainor, godmother of Utopia of the Seas. “From performing on a breathtaking stage while we’re in the middle of the ocean to having my fans here to sing and dance with me and experiencing it all with my family – Utopia really is the ultimate short getaway. I’m so honored to be part of the memories so many will make here.”

The celebration set the tone for passengers on Utopia of the Seas, where friends and families have more than 40 ways to dine, drink and party.

The newest dining venue, Royal Railway – Utopia Station, is the first-of-its-kind immersive train car dining experience. Guests order a five-course meal while sitting in an elegant train dining car and watching the world go by out the windows. Besides scenic venues to look at such as Napa Valley or Scotland, gentle movement of the rail car adds to this multi-sensory venue.

ENTERTAINMENT

Those looking for thrills will appreciate the show-stopping air, ice, and water entertainment around the ship. The Aqua Theater is home to the most talented aqua performers.
