The Beach and the Deco District

Shopping, lounging, bathing, swimming, drinking, burning, laughing; Miami beach is one of Florida’s most iconic locations. Take the edge off the heat and lounge near the sparkling waters of the U.S. coast, cocktail in hand. Many high end hotels, five star dinner hotspots and iconic 20th century architecture are right on hand, with the Art Deco district right on top of all beachgoers. 

For the more adventurous amongst you, check out the beach water sports industry. Parasailing, speedboat rides and water skiing are all on offer. Or, alternatively, rent and captain your very own sailboat and take off into the bay. Certain city tours offer a combo: one part city tour, one part sail experience and one part everglades airboat ride.  

Wild Cassadaga

If you’re in the market for something a little more out there, look no further than the small, busy town of Cassadaga. Off in the west of Florida, this inconspicuous village has a worldwide reputation for all things psychic, all things medium and all things clairvoyant. If the occult world had a concentrated capital, Cassadaga would be it.

A tour of Florida wouldn’t be complete without a peek in, with the Spiritualist camp being the main attraction. With a cohort of psychics, teachers and community members manning the garrison, there’s plenty to be learned and plenty to explore for even the most sceptic of tourists. Head to a seminar. And once you’re all psyched out, consider the nearby Lyonia preserve. A winding mix of scrub, hiking trails, turtles and birds, you can get your fill of Florida nature without too much worry about local alligators.

Warm, dewy and golden with sunshine, Florida is perfect for a Disney World trip at most every time of the year. With two parks on water and four on land, there’s enough to do here for at least several weeks while staying in the local deluxe villas and resort hotels. Meet your favourite characters, ride Space Mountain and make a splash in Typhoon Lagoon. Memories will be made here that you won’t soon forget.
