Best Places to Get a Bird’s Eye View of London

There is a constant buzz in London, it always feels like something is happening. During a visit to the capital, you may feel like it’s impossible to see everything the city has to offer. However, there are ways you can see lots of iconic London sights all at once. Getting a bird’s eye view of the city is an incredible way to go sightseeing, and here are a few of the places you can see London at its finest.  

London Eye

Of course, the London Eye had to be at the top of the list. It’s one of the most iconic attractions of the city and makes for an amazing part of your day out in London. The London Eye is located on the South Bank of the River Thames. It offers 360-degree views of the city, and its constant rotation means the view is always changing. You’ll be able to see the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, and Big Ben, and Buckingham Palace.

Emirates Air Line 

If you’re looking for something a little bit different, why not hop on an Emirates cable car? It connects Royal Victoria and North Greenwich tube stations. You’ll be able to travel across the Thames and enjoy a unique view of London. Some of the sights you’ll be able to see on your journey include Canary Wharf, St Paul’s Cathedral and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. This is definitely an experience you won’t be forgetting any time soon.

Rooftop Restaurants 

There are ways you can turn your London sightseeing into an even more special experience. There are so many restaurants and bars with beautiful views of London. You can find a venue that suits your tastes – from a sunny beer garden to an elegant restaurant. You’ll be able to drink in the views alongside a cocktail or glass of wine. If you aim to go at sunset, you can see the city change from day to night and watch London light up during the evening. 

Parks 

There are plenty of green spaces throughout London. If you’re looking for a cheaper option than going for cocktails at a rooftop bar, then perhaps visiting Primrose Hill or Greenwich Park for a lunchtime gaze will make for a better option. There are plenty of parks in the city which offer some great panoramic views. Parliament Hill, in Hampstead Heath, offers a particularly lovely view of London. Pack a picnic, get strolling, and enjoy the sights of the city.
