Premiership Rugby and Christopher Ward – the UK’s leading mechanical watchmaker – have announced a partnership, making Christopher Ward the Official Timekeeper of the league.

The Christopher Ward name will be visible across all Premiership Rugby stadiums – specifically the shot clocks introduced to the league this season. Stadium clocks will also be branded by the Christopher Ward name and TV viewers on TNT Sports and ITV will also benefit from new on-screen time-keeping branding as part of this long-term partnership.

Premiership Rugby Chief Commercial Officer Mark Brittain says: “We are so pleased to welcome Christopher Ward to the Premiership Rugby family.

It is great to partner with a British brand who share our values and passion for growing the game and we are excited to work alongside them through this partnership.”

Christopher Ward turned the traditional watch model on its head in 2005 by becoming the world’s first online-only premium watch brand offering hand-crafted, Swiss-made mechanical watches at previously unheard-of prices. Today they have customers in more than 100 countries and are renowned for their pioneering approach to watchmaking, including the creation of the first commercially viable mechanical watch movement from a British watch brand in over 50 years, the acclaimed Calibre SH21.

Mike France, the CEO and Co-Founder of Christopher Ward says: “It’s an honour to be the Official Timekeeper of the league.  Rugby is a passion for many of our customers and so we are delighted to be a part of the exciting future of Premiership Rugby.”
