Insuite Christmas Tree, Santa’s Arrival by Helicopter, Gingerbread Mansions, & More At Velas Resorts in Mexico

Velas Resorts in Mexico are once again rolling out the holiday carpet for the festive season with a number of holiday-themed activities for guests. In-suite Christmas trees, traditional Mexican posadas, a special helicopter arrival from Santa Clause, gingerbread mansions, and much more are on tap. Offerings vary throughout the collection, which includes the family friendly Five Diamond Grand Velas resorts in Los Cabos, Riviera Maya, and Riviera Nayarit and Velas Vallarta and adults – only Casa Velas, Mar Del Cabo and new Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos, opening December 20th. For bookings made before November 15th, spa and resort credits, suite upgrades, discounts on golf and shopping at the onsite boutique, and photography packages are also included based on the resort. Additionally, up to two kids (4-12) stay complimentary in the same suite at Velas Vallarta for early bookings. 

Family Fun Together, Teens, and For Kids Only Too 

For the entire family, holiday activities range from daily themed shows, caroling, gingerbread decoration, and Mexican posadas to Santa’s Workshop, drive-in movies, evening glamping, and pictures with Santa. Santa’s arrival is impressive at Grand Velas Los Cabos via helicopter and via parachute at Velas Vallarta. 

Teens at the resorts can enjoy dedicated lounges with everything from video games, Xbox Kinect, and karaoke to special activities like urban dance classes, non- alcoholic mixology classes and an Instagram Photo Tour. Tik Tok challenges and dance battles are also planned. 

For younger children, onsite and complimentary Kids’ Clubs offer a safe, fun and creative environment to engage in interactive activities like Alebrijes Painting, Huichol Beading, pinata workshops, Spanish lessons, and more. At Grand Velas Los Cabos and Riviera Nayarit, the dedicated spaces were recently completely revamped. Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit offers indoor-outdoor entertainment. Filled with natural light, inside there is a multi-colored dance floor and karaoke station, individual cinema pods, gaming station, and crafts area. Outside, there’s giant Jenga, climbing wall, and ping pong and an over-the-top open-air terrace with foosball, air hockey, and covered areas to lounge. The new treehouse themed Kids Club in Los Cabos is complete with new entertainment spaces, arts and crafts area, an illuminated dance floor, cinema with tiered seating, snack bar, gaming, and more. Velas Vallarta offers a wide range of

family activities, from classic Christmas traditions like tree lighting and caroling with children from the Santa Esperanza Children’s Shelter to a variety of kids’ events, including letter-writing to Santa, Posadas, Christmas shows, Santa’s arrival, arts and crafts, interactive games, and more. 

Adults – Only Resorts and Programs 

At the adults-only Casa Velas, guests receive 25% discount on championship golf at Marina and Vista Golf Clubs, cart included; yoga and Pilates, salsa dancing, tequila and mezcal tastings, Spa Atelier workshops, and more. A special Christmas program and a New Year’s Eve gala dinner with live entertainment will also be included. 

On Christmas Day, Mar del Cabo by Velas Resorts will be open to non-resort guests for a four course al fresco dinner with live music. On the hotel’s sun terrace, guests can experience celestial serenity in a region recognized by NASA as one of the top 20 places for night-sky research. 

In-Suite Christmas Trees, Order Toys and Decorations Online On Property 

Travelers can bring their holiday celebrations to their stay at Velas Resorts with a Christmas Tree insuite, pre-decorated or with ornaments to decorate as a family. At Velas Vallarta, guests’ trees are adorned with the renowned hand-crafted ornaments from Michoacán that they can bring home with them, as a reminder of their special Velas Christmas and enjoy for years to come. Michoacán, located in the lush mountains of Mexico, celebrates Christmas every day of the year as a production center of handmade ornaments for Mexico, the US and Canada. 

Gift wrapped toys for boys and girls are also available to be delivered to the suites for Christmas morning. Everything can be easily pre-selected from an online gift shop prior to arrival, including preference of ornaments, tree toppers and gifts for under the tree.
