One-Night-Only: Meaghan Dorman at Back Bar (2/6 at 6:00)
Renowned bartender Meaghan Dorman of Raines Law Room and Dear Irving is stopping by Back Bar for one-night-only as a part of the “Visiting Bar Luminary Series” that we shared below earlier this week. Her visit is this Tuesday, February 6th from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, see here and below for more details! Meaghan is celebrating 15 years of Raines Law Room at Back Bar and bringing along some of her personal favorite cocktails from over the years. See below for menu highlights:
- Bad Love: Woodford Reserve Bourbon, cacao, cocchi rosa, orange bitters and a cherry
- Whiskey Business: Jack Daniel’s Rye, angostura bitters, cinnamon, lemon and ancho reyes
- Liberatador: Diplomático Rum, Madre Mezcal, Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur, banana, and saline
- Strong Suit: Blanco Tequila, ancho verde, celery bitters, lemon, saline and celery garnish
- To The Nines: Ford’s Gin, Martini Fiero Aperitivo, grapefruit, lime, grenadine and foam

Nestled behind the Hotel Eventi lobby, Back Bar, known for its craft cocktail program and elegant ambiance, is proud to present its “Visiting Bar Luminary Series,” a curated calendar of events featuring some of the brightest minds on the global cocktail scene, kicking off on February 6th.
The Visiting Bar Luminary Series is a collaboration between Chris Lauber, senior director of operations for LT Hospitality, Jason Hedges, beverage director of LT Hospitality, and Laurent Tourondel, chef/owner of LT Hospitality.
This series prominently highlights the distinctive styles and characteristics of bartenders, positioning them at the forefront. Serving as a testament to the evolving landscape of mixology and hospitality, it charts the course for the future of beverage experiences. The bartenders showcased in the series not only excel within their home base bars but also reveal themselves as individual talents, contributing to a dynamic and innovative approach to the art of bartending.
The first luminary to kick off the series will be Meaghan Dorman, the creative mind behind Raines Law Room and Dear Irving. During this one-night-only appearance at Back Bar, Dorman will transport guests on a tasteful journey through the last 15 years at the Raines Law Room, showcasing some of her all-time favorites in celebration of this milestone anniversary.
On February 8th, the series continues with the highly anticipated stint of Moe Aljaff and Juliette Larrouy, the brilliant duo behind the globally celebrated “Schmuck.” brand. They are set to embark on an 8-week journey at Back Bar, running through March (6 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays). Throughout this period, patrons will enjoy an exclusive opportunity to experience the team’s innovative cocktail approach and experience their trademark hospitality.
Having risen to international acclaim when their Barcelona bar, Two Schmucks, was ranked 7th in the World’s 50 Best Bars Awards 2022, they have since departed to focus on new projects and the ultimate dream of having an NYC bar to call home. Now one step closer on that journey, this series at Back Bar serves as a captivating preview of the exceptional offerings that await at their highly anticipated Lower East Side bar opening, scheduled for Fall 2024.
With Schmuck. headlining the Winter calendar with their 8-week preview, the Back Bar team has scheduled the best of New York’s favorite bartenders for one-night cameo appearances over the next several months. Dale DeGroff, often regarded as the mentor of many notable New York bartenders, is confirmed for February 27th.
Back Bar officially opened in October and was previously the temporary home of the iconic Angel’s Share for eight months in 2022-2023. Since its opening, Back Bar has already paved the way for a new wave of value-driven craft cocktails, receiving notable praise for an entire section of its menu dedicated to elevated $12 signature cocktails. Additionally, it’s focused on offering a robust seasonal program of over thirty signature cocktails curated by Hedges and bites from acclaimed Chef Tourondel. The Visiting Bartender Series will take place in Back Bar’s exclusive gem, Hidden Bar, a concealed space cloaked by a heavy, hidden wooden door behind the main bar.
