Rediscovering the Marina Del Rey Hotel

Rediscovering the Marina Del Rey Hotel

Situated along a scenic waterfront location, the sophisticated Marina Del Rey Hotel, part of Pacifica Hotels, offers newly renovated guest rooms and suites overlooking million dollar yachts unfurling their sails and making curls of tiny waves on the main channel.

The three-story boutique hotel offers main channel, pool and city views from guest rooms, the balcony or ground level patio. Each guest room has either one King or two Queen beds with luxury bedding, a 55″ HD LED television, plush bathrobes, and en suite bathroom with a walk-in shower, in room safe, and array of bath products.

Upon check-in, the front desk has temporary Plexiglas barriers for added protection. Hand sanitizing stations are located throughout the lobby and high touch areas throughout the hotel. Guests are provided a COVID-19 fact sheet with hotel policies and a personal use hand sanitizer. When checking out, the hotel now offers contactless check-out via text message.

The hotel has heightened its deep-cleaning and sanitization process, including Electrostatic sprayer to be utilized during guest room cleaning and public/common areas. Increased disinfection is focused on high-touch areas such as television remote controls, door and furniture handles, water faucet handles, nightstands, telephones, in-room control panels, light switches. Guest rooms will be cleaned prior to arrival with clean room door seal notification to indicate the guest room has not been accessed since being thoroughly cleaned and sealed.

The marina view infinity swimming pool is open to guests securing a 90 minute reservation time upon arrival or when available throughout their stay. This helps with proper social distancing and heightened cleaning protocols.

Other outdoor activities include bikes to rent from the front desk. Cruiser-style bikes with baskets are $5 for the first hour, $15 for four hours and $25 for the day.

Marina Del Rey offers miles of paved bike paths to explore nearby Venice and Santa Monica, Playa Del Rey, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach.

One of the hotel’s most picturesque spots is sitting outside at SALT Restaurant and Bar. The marine breeze helps diners forget about the uncertainties in the world right now.

Reservations are required, due to local health ordinances, as tables are now pleasantly distanced more than 6 ft., limiting seating on the outside dining patio. Guest sit under shade umbrellas during the day and among flickering fire pits in the evening.

Guests are asked to wear masks when they arrive and walk about the property. Servers wear mandated face masks and shields at all times, while taking orders, entering the kitchen and presenting dishes to guests.

Guests also have the option to order off the full menu and have their meal sent up to their room to enjoy on their balcony while watching the vibrant sunset.

SALT’s bartenders are making some creative summer cocktails with names that include ‘The Socially Distant Mule’ and an ‘Aperol Afternoon Delight’. Menu items include English pea ravioli with goat Gouda and mushroom confit, an 8 oz blue cheese crusted filet served with marble potatoes and perfectly cooked asparagus, and grilled salmon on a colorful bed of ratatouille.

The friendly and helpful staff will help guests secure a rental boat, paddle board or kayak to explore Marina Del Rey on the water.

Right now Pacifica Hotels is offering a “Discover California” summer special at participating properties. The Golden state stretches along 840 miles with 420 public beach and 3,674 wineries.
