Resorts World Las Vegas Self-Guided Art Walking Tour

While staying at the new Resorts World Las Vegas, guests will notice an eclectic art program featuring artwork created by both renowned and local artists. Resorts World is a consortium of three connecting hotels – the Hilton, Conrad and Crockfords. The design team and art consultants curated an array of colorful pieces, larger-than-life sculptures and murals within the casino area and beyond.

Here is a guide to experience some of the diverse collection of stunning art pieces displayed at every corner.

HILTON LAS VEGAS

Andy Warhol

Start at the Hilton lobby to admire Andy Warhol prints. They are immediately recognizable in Resorts World Las Vegas. There are more to see, in fact there are 46 pieces throughout the resort featuring Marilyn Monroe, Flowers, President Mao, Princess Diana, and Prince Charles.

Hippo Wild Ride by Gillie and Marc

Located in the Hilton Lobby, Australian based artists, Gillie and Marc’s beautiful bronze statue of a hippopotamus as a base or seat for a dog and rabbit in love is whimsical and fun to see. The artists want to represent inclusivity, love, compassion, and unity, while encouraging viewers to mimic the lovable Dogman and Rabbitwoman. It also is a nod to their passion for animal conservation by including endangered species.

3-D David Spriggs Vision

3-D David Spriggs Vision

Also in the Hilton Lobby, near Crockfords West Corridor, artist David Spriggs Vision Series created in 2021 is made with acrylic and layered plexiglass. This unique piece, offers a different perspective for viewers. Some  see either an explosion or implosion. Some viewers see an iris while others see moving particles. Spriggs technique of layering images offers movement and a 3-D element.

One more stunning piece in the lobby of the Hilton is titled ‘Glass Rose’ by Michael Kalish. This is one of his first popular pieces that has been displayed in museums and galleries in Stockholm, Geneva, Los Angeles, and New York. This dimensional set of four wall sculptures are made with multiple layers colored aluminum and acrylic that is laser cut to create each flower.

Liberace Piano at Conrad Las Vegas

Located in the Conrad Lobby is Liberace’s 1913 Nickelodeon performance piano from his residency at the Las Vegas Hilton. This piano was recently refurbished for this display. Using a large scale photo of Liberace, Allen Warren created the portrait of Liberace. It was the final portrait with acrylic paint and glitter to give the piece a Liberace creative flare. The other is a spray paint original by Spencer Couture, a local Las Vegas artist. He used a method of layering spray paint, resin and beads to create this other Liberace piece of art.

THE DISTRICT

At the Las Vegas Blvd entrance to the District shopping and dining center is a re-creation of the iconic Stardust marque. It’s identical, only smaller to the sign which stood at this location from July 1958 to March 2007. This Stardust sculpture by Kevin Berry Fine Arts stands 9′ feet tall from star to star. The original Stardust sign is at the Neon Museum in Las Vegas.

Head over to Carversteak, a fine dining steakhouse for dinner and be sure to see the Beetle Sphere by Ichwan Noor.  This sculptor enjoying creating large scale art with steel, aluminum, and recycled materials. He reformed an unmistakable symbol -Volkswagen Beetle, leaving the viewer to wonder how he created this piece. VW details can be seen VW on hub caps, while all the metal and glass are bent or collapsed around the interior of the red vehicle.

There is a life-size statue of heavyweight fighter Mike Tyson at District. Learn how he was born in June 30, 1966 in Brownsville New York, and became a boxing legend at the age of 20. He held the record as the youngest boxer ever to win a heavyweight title. Tyson won the first 19 professional fights by knockouts, 12 of them in the first round. During his career he fought 17 times in Las Vegas.

Red Hong Ti art using dyed tea bags

Near Ten Suns in the Famous Foods area of Resorts World is Kopitiam Uncle by Red Hong Yi. Even though she is a painter, she paints without paint. This talented artist used 20,000 individually dyed teabags to depict a man pouring the popular coffee drink, Kopitiam. She created this piece of art to show the world what everyday life in Malaysian street markets looks like. It’s perfect for this South Asian theme culinary destination at the resort.

Feed the Soul by Matthew Laurence Knott

Matthew Laurence Knott also has a piece in the Famous Foods area of Resorts World. In his ‘Feed the Soul’, he uses vibrant colors and pop art influences. Everyone who looks at it can identify with a shoe or brand that speaks to them. His goal is to spark joy with his art.

Walk over to the adult-only Athena Infinity Ultra Pool and look down to see TRANSFIX, the world’s largest immersive art display. There are over 50 monumental installations by some of the most innovative artists of today. Launched on April 21, 2023 at Resorts World in Las Vegas, TRANSFIX features a labyrinth of art, light, sound, and video works across a 200,000 square-foot multi-level venue. Participants embark on their own adventure for an inspiring personal creative discovery experience. There is nothing like this in the world.
