5 Must-See Festivals in 2019
The world is one big place filled with all sorts of music, art, food, and culture worth exploring. Experiences await around every corner, offering you endless opportunities to learn, grow, expand your perception… and have a lot of fun while you’re at it!
Traveling and experiencing different walks of life if one of the most valuable (and exciting!) things we can do as humans, and doing that at a festival just makes matters ten times more riveting! Art, music, and passion all wrapped up into one location with like-minded people who are eager to connect and share their energy? Yes, please! Gone are the days of multiple museums admission fees, endless restaurants tabs, and desperate searches for live events over dodgy WiFi signals. A festival will conveniently offer all these attractions for one ticket price—all you need to do is show up and enjoy the ride.
Below is a condensed list of my favorite festivals that I think you absolutely must-see in 2019. Unless you’ve figured out the secret to living a luxurious lifestyle, chances are you’ll need to narrow down your travels to a few of these events. Pick your top choices and start planning!
Where: San Diego, CA
When: Nov. 17-24, 2019
Why: If you’ve never been to America’s Finest City, it’s about due time. It’s one of the rare places in the world that boasts always-perfect weather nearly all the time, so you don’t need to worry about a foul forecast for this fall event. The festival isn’t held at one specific location; rather, it features over 40 events spread across laid-back beach cities, upscale shopping centers, and dazzling downtown sky scrapers—meaning you’ll enjoy full cultural immersion as you wine and dine with the city’s top talent.

When: Sept. 4-8, 2019
Why: Outlook is one of Europe’s largest electronic music festivals and it’s 1/10 reasons to fall in love with the Croatian peninsula of Istria. Brimming with history and culture, Outlook takes place at a 2,000 year old amphitheater—which is just one stage to mention among the other 150 year-old abandoned fort alongside 50+ Adriatic yacht parties. Located in the enchanting bay of Pula in the Brijuni National Park, this is one of the most awe-inspiring festival locations that boasts world-class talent.

When: April 12-14, 19-21, 2019
Why: Don’t be deterred by the price tag on this music and arts festival—Coachella is worth every penny. Attendees flock from around the world to witness larger-than-life art exhibits and the biggest names in the music industry. Camp on-site or off-site in the warm So. Cal. desert and be a part of a collective movement you can only experience to understand. Be sure to bring your fashion A game! From bohemian sundresses to neon-inspired 80s clothes, you’ll find no shortage of whimsical attire amongst these concert goers.

When: July 25-28, 2019
Why: As one of the top food festivals in the UK, this culinary tour de force is sure to impress even the most refined palettes. An unabashedly bohemian vibe collides with the royal historic seat of Lord and Lady St. Germans where famous chefs prepare some of the world’s best dishes. Here you’ll find far more than a celebration of food and drink, including epic after hour parties, fashion shows, and family activities.

When: June 27-30, 2019
Why: Imagine the spirit of Woodstock combined with the psychedelic lights of Burj Khalifa and you’ll get a sense of the appeal behind Electric Forest. Concert goers retreat the to these Michigan woods where they lose the world and find themselves, pitching tents beneath the stars and next to stages that feature amazingly talented musicians. The lineup here is diverse, including genres spanning from rap to reggae and beyond, so you’re guaranteed to catch multiple artists you love. Perhaps even better than the music, though, is the diverse group of people who attend The Forest annual. In fact, there’s such an abundance of love—swinging beneath hammocks and disco-ing silently into the late night—that event coordinators are asking Forest-Found couples to submit their stories to be honored and celebrated this summer 2019!
