Head to The Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach for the Holidays

The ocean view three-story Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach in Northern San Diego, offers 215 California beach casual guest rooms and suites directly across the street from the legendary Ponto surf break and beach. The California Craftsman-style exterior is enhanced with towering tropical palm trees and unobstructed Pacific Ocean views. Opened in June, 2012, the inviting lobby offers a grab and go market, technology lounge with work stations, and the full service Chandler’s Restaurant and Lounge offering ocean views inside and outdoors on the dining terrace. The restaurant is filled with rich wood, sunset colored fabrics and a friendly beach atmosphere. The oversized bar is busy during Happy Hour and in the evening while guests sip local beers, wines and craft cocktails.

Guests staying in room 3052 have panoramic ocean and swimming pool views. Slide open a glass door to a balcony with two chairs and a small table. Inside the spacious guest room are brown woods, two Queen Hilton Serenity beds with luxurious soft bedding, 42-inch flat screen television, in-room safe, Crabtree & Evelyn bath amenities, white robes and complimentary Wi-Fi.

This hotel has become a popular wedding destination again. It’s coastal location across the street from waves crashing and sunset views, also offers street access down to a stairway to the sand for coastal wedding photos.

All of the event rooms are off to the right of the hotel offering more privacy for intimate and grand parties. Many of the meeting rooms offer outdoor patios with ocean breezes and views.

The Ocean Crest Spa is open on Wednesday through Sunday by appointment only. Located next to the fitness room overlooking the pool and ocean beyond. The spa offers a 5,700 sq. ft serene wellness experiences with a spacious couples suite and private outdoor relaxation area. The separate men’s and women’s locker room provides ocean elements to promote energy, serenity, calmness and enhance wellness. Many of the treatment products are made from ingredients found in the ocean.

The large outdoor pool area is family friendly with a kids splash pool, beach-slope entrance, and hot whirlpool. There are plenty of lounge chairs and a few cabanas for shade and more privacy.

The property has surf lockers and complimentary bicycles for guests to pedal two miles to Carlsbad Village or to neighboring Encinitas. This route is frequented by world-class bicyclists riding along the ocean past the Cape Rey to Newport Beach.
