Those who order the Caesar salad will appreciate the long romaine lettuce leaves topped with large garlic croutons, parmesan and a classic caesar dressing.

The restaurant offers a nice selection of local and Baja California wines from Valle de Guadalupe and other regions.

A great wine to pair with one of the appetizers is a Blanco from Bruma in Valle de Guadalupe. The golden straw colored Chardonnay white wine offers hints of white peach, pear and lychee. It’s a bright and clean wine providing orange blossom, citrus and green tea with a pleasing minerality. It goes well with salads, guacamole and tostadas.

The chef makes a vibrant Tuna Tostada made with local yellowtail, spicy avocado mousse, peanut mocha and apples. There is a zing of heat with each bite.

The guacamole is enhanced with chicharrones, spicy cotija, sliced radish and pomegranate seeds for sweetness and a pop of bright red color. This dish is served with different types of crunchy chips to scoop up the green goodness.

Entrees favorites includes grilled steak Babette enhanced with bone marrow jus, cilantro chimichurri, baby corn rajas with huitlacoche. An ideal red wine pairing is from Monte Xanic Winery.

The red Monte Xanic Ricardo offers a ruby red color and aromas of ripe cherries, violet flowers and rosemary. This full bodied premium wine pairs well with grilled meat, such as the delicious Kurobuta Pork Milanese served with pickled red onion, shaved cabbage and pozole verde sauce.

ACTIVITIES

Take one of the Zybra bicycles out for a complimentary one hour ride around Harbor Island. This area is a man-made peninsula that was created in 1961. Located between Shelter Island and Downtown San Diego, it’s two miles long and only a few hundred feet wide. Ride along the waterfront and green lawns while watching boats cruise by.
