What’s New at Universal Studios Hollywood

Universal CityWalk Hollywood offers an array of immersive themed lands for guests to enjoy real-life interpretations of iconic and favorite movie and television shows. Now open to all, there are new eateries, rides and entertainment experiences.

1. Minion Cafe at Universal Studios Hollywood

Located next to the “Despicable Me Minion Mayhem” ride and at the entrance of “Super Silly Fun Land” is the all-new Minion Cafe. The eclectic menu includes innovative fare such as pulled pork grilled cheese with banana bbq sauce, chicken bacon ranch Mac n’ cheese and Nutella bread pudding.

2. Ride on the new The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash!

Step inside a replica of Katie’s NYC apartment building to the all-new tech-savvy adventure inspired ride from “The Secret Life of Pets” and “The Secret Life of Pets 2”.

Guests look into a mirror and take on the roles of stray puppies as they join Max, Snowball, Gidget, Chloe and Duke, along with a host of other animal friends on a quest of finding forever homes.

While waiting in line visitors are entertained watching the realistic, dimensional and animated characters blink, raise their eyebrows, tilt their heads and move their mouth and torso was walk. Once on the two-person ride vehicle, guests travel through bustling New York City streets facing an array of colorful and explosive challenges towards a Pet Adoption event that ultimately ends with discovering who adopts you to live your happy forever home.  

3. Universal CityWalk debuts NBC Sports Grill & Brew. 

It’s a great spot to enjoy a beverage and meal while watching the Summer Olympics or other sporting event. 

The sports-themed restaurant offers state-of-the-art HDTV screens displaying media partnerships that include the International Olympic Committee and United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee, the NFL, NASCAR, INDYCAR, PGA TOUR, The R&A, PGA of America, USGA, Churchill Downs, Premier League, Tour de France, Roland Garros, and many more.

Visitors can play shuffleboard and foosball amid sports-inspired décor, including specially commissioned art pieces and a custom neon NBC peacock logo. For those who prefer al fresco dining, there is a giant media wall located at the restaurant’s front exterior. Measuring 23 feet by 13 feet, the HDTV monitor offers guests a front row experience.

The expansive menu, curated by Universal Studios Hollywood’s Executive Chef Marie Grimm, includes a fresh taste of traditional pub fare, offering a variety of starting lineup appetizers, such as wings, loaded nachos and artisan pretzels. Home run options include flavorful sandwiches and burgers, fresh salads, hearty grain bowls and indulgent desserts. There are vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options as well as traditional fare with an array of cleverly themed courses. Home run handheld options include a roadside chili burger, Gruyere burger, Beyond burger, brat pretzel press and Nashville hot fried chicken sandwich. On the Greens side are a variety of salads, including a classic chicken caesar salad and grilled steak wedge. Game Time entrees include smoked BBQ pork ribs, Farmhouse fried chicken, broccoli & cheddar mac ‘n’ cheese, NY strip steak and grilled cedar plank salmon.

A la carte “Side Lines” add even more options to the extensive menu with extras including tater tots, crinkle cut fries, grilled vegetables, creamy mashed potatoes and cornbread.

Finish with ice cream and a variety of floats. A refreshing complement to the menu, the restaurant also features a full bar and an extensive selection of over 40 beers, including the 862 as an IPA or seasonal draft custom-made to the Universal CityWalk Hollywood location.

Customize your beverages by creating your own beer flight, build your own mule cocktail or select from a list of craft cocktails and wines.

4. Get your tickets now to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood! 

The terror begins early on Thursday, September 9 with new theme mazes that include “The Exorcist“, “The Curse of Pandora’s Box”, “The Haunting of Hill House”, “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” and “Universal Monsters: Bride of Frankenstein Lives.”
