Research suggests that sponsorships directed towards athletic woman is only 7% of the US $30 billion spent globally. Milk hopes to bring awareness to this discrepancy starting with 26.2 – the numeric distance of a marathon. It’s the same distance for everyone no matter the gender. It wasn’t until 1970, when women were invited to participate in the marathon, and 26.2 has signified the determination and passion of women to compete. This year, 26.2 is a celebration.

Every Team Milk member’s registration fee will be matched (up to $600K USD) as a pledge towards Girls on the Run, for future marathon runners.

Go to Milk’s website www.GonnaNeedMilk.com/26.2 to sign up as a female marathon runner. Read the journeys of Team Milk marathoners to learn about nutritional, mental and physical advice from first in class sports experts. There is also recovery kits equipped with key finish line items. Milk is dedicated to sponsoring every woman at every touchpoint on their road to 26.2.

We all know that a marathon is a physically grueling, mentally draining, exceptional feat. Every woman who has devoted the time, strength, pain and training to get across the finish line deserves to be celebrated. Milk is sponsoring every woman, because every woman is a champion. When it comes to 26.2… You’re Gonna Need Milk.
