Mother’s Day Cocktail Recipes [COCKTAIL TIME]

Mom deserves the world every day, but especially on May 8th. Mother’s Day is right around the corner and that means you’re probably starting to wonder how to celebrate your motherly figure(s). There’s countless ways to show your appreciation, but what says “thank you for putting up with me” better than a delicious cocktail to help Mom unwind and enjoy her day?

Whether you’re hosting a Sunday brunch, surprising her with breakfast in bed, or celebrating with a happy hour get together, these cocktails are a great way to bring the family together for a toast to Mom. 

Easy to make, these cocktails will certainly please Mom’s palate, as well as her heart. Say cheers to the woman who does it all with these refreshing spring recipes that will have Mom feeling like a queen. 

Minke Raspberry Martini

Ingredients:

50ml Minke Gin

20ml Dry Vermouth

20ml Raspberry Syrup

Garnish: Fresh or frozen raspberries

Method:

Stir the gin, dry vermouth, raspberry syrup and ice together in a shaker or mixing glass. Double strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with raspberries.

 

Blood Orange Brose

(Large Format Party Serve, 6-8 Servings)

Ingredients:

12oz Whiskeysmith Blood Orange

Half a Bottle of Rose Wine (375 ml or 12 ½ oz)

3 oz Vodka

5 oz Sour Mix (High-Quality Store Bought or Homemade) or Frozen Lemonade.

Method:

Add all ingredients to a blender, add a scoop of ice and blend for a frothy shareable treat.

 

Velvet Espresso Martini

Ingredients:

1.5 oz Disaronno Velvet

.5 oz Tia Maria Cold Brew Liqueur

.5 oz Vodka

Chocolate Flakes or Coffee Beans

Method:

Shake and strain ingredients over ice. Garnish with chocolate flakes or coffee beans.

 

Bee’s Knees

Ingredients:

2 oz Broken Shed Vodka

0.75 oz fresh lemon juice

0.75 oz honey syrup

3 drops lavender bitters

Garnish: 1 brandied cherry

Method:

Add ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake and double strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a brandied cherry.

 

Westport Rose

Ingredients:

1.5 oz Grace O’Malley Heather Infused Irish Gin

1 oz sweet white Vermouth (for example Lillet Blanc)

1 tsp Aperol

4 dashes Rose Bitters (for example The Bitter Truth)

Decoration: Rose petal

Method:

Fill a mixing glass with ice cubes and add the ingredients. Stir on ice, then strain into a coupe or martini glass. Add rose petals.

Ingredients:

1.5 oz Nooku Bourbon Cream

0.5oz Dry Town Gin

1 oz Berry Syrup

1 Dash Lavender Bitters

1 oz Soda Water

Method:

Combine all ingredients into a shaker except soda water and shake with ice. Add soda water and then double strain into a rocks glass over a large cube. Garnish with an edible flower.

For berry syrup, combine 32oz simple syrup with two cups of blueberries and one cup of blackberries. Blend on high and then fine strain.

 

Cabana Boy

Ingredients:

1.5 oz blanco tequila

.75 oz lime juice

.75 oz C&S Fassionola

Ginger beer

Method:

Add all ingredients minus ginger beer to a shaker with ice. Shake and strain over crushed ice into a Collins glass (though we used the coupes here for presentation and ended up really liking them). Top with ginger beer. Garnish with a lime wheel, maybe a dusting of dried hibiscus flowers.

 

Ballotin Bushwacker

Ballotin Bushwacker

Ingredients:

1 ½ oz Ballotin Original Chocolate Whiskey

½ oz Dark Rum

½ oz Coffee Liqueur

½ oz Real Cream of Coconut

1 ½ oz Whole Milk

Chocolate syrup for garnish

Method:

Shake all ingredients with ice in a mixing tin. Squeeze chocolate syrup around the inside of the pint glass. Fill with ice and strain.

Ingredients:

1oz Ginger Honey Syrup

1oz Fresh Lemon Juice

2oz Proclamation Irish Whiskey

2 dashes of bitters

Ginger Honey Syrup Recipe:

Add 8/10oz of water to pot, Cut up ginger root, add to the pot and bring to boil. Once the mixture has boiled, lower the temperature and add 8/10oz of honey to the mixture and stir. Once the mixture has cooled, store in fridge until use.

 

The Busker Paloma

Ingredients:

1 oz The Busker Triple Cask Triple Smooth

2 oz Pink Grapefruit Soda

Fresh Mint Sprig

Method:

Fill a highball glass with ice, pour The Busker Irish Whiskey and top up with Pink Grapefruit Soda. Stir and garnish with Fresh Mint sprig.

 

Jalapeno Avocado Margarita

Jalapeno Avocado Margarita

Ingredients:

4 oz. Tequila Bribón Blanco

2 oz. Agave nectar (cut 50/50 with water)

2 oz. Fresh squeezed lime juice

1/2 avocado, peeled and mashed

2 slices jalapeño

Lime wheels, for garnish

1 cup ice, plus extra for serving

Method:

Fill two rocks glasses with ice. Set aside. Place ripe avocado, and jalapeno slices in a cocktail shaker. Muddle ingredients until they’re thoroughly mashed. Add remaining ingredients to the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously. Strain into the rocks glasses and garnish with the remaining lime wheels.
